Title: a cartridge that lets you save all nes games
Post by Mario on 15. Jun 2014 at 04:17
When I was a kid I had this cartridge that plugged into the NES where a cartridge would go. Before putting it in for the first time, there was a bar inside the nes theat needed to be pulled out. If you look in your cartridge slot, you will see a bar. The purpose of this bar is so you cannot use non licensed Nintendo cartridges like the one Im trying to explain.

OK so now with the bar removed you could put the cartridge in and put your game in on top of it. This cartridge allowed you to save your games. There was also a slow motion option that worked by pressing the pause button very quickly, using software. it was pretty worthless. With this cartridge you could now save your progress on any game at any point and re load if you died or turn off your NES and pick up where you left off.

It looked like a clear NES game cartridge with a 72 pin connector on the face of it about in the middle of the cartridge where the label would be if it was a game. You would push it in and it would stick out of the console and you would slide a game in on top of it and into the 72 pin connector.

I cant remember what it was called and Im thinking about buying an NES and I want one of these cartridges if I can find it. Anyone know what Im talking about?

Sounds like a cool device, never saw it back in the day would have loved it as a kid.you should check out the nes everdrive flashcart. You don't have to mod the system and it has save states as well.I have one and can say its awesome. The best part is playing Rom hacks on the original nes.

Is it a Game Action Replay?
If so there are 2 challenges
1) Its expensive and rare
2) It probably needs its battery replaced and its programming re-installed.   There used to be a site that provided this service, but I forget where now.

Yea yea, just like powerpak but better. The everdrive uses micro sd cards instead of compact flash, the everdrive can save states, and the developer Krikzz is still very active on his site forum, as well as working on firmware updates.there are a few mappers that still don't work. The only 2 games I ran into that didnt work were action 52 and castlevania 3.And think he got cv3 working in the 9.1 os release.
