NES CONSOLE IN A NES CARTRIDGE
April 23rd, 2008 - 12:54 pm - Posted by Martin Comments: 1

This is no April fools joke. Kotomi of kotomiblog.blogspot.com has created a NES in a Cart console.

This could of course only be done by using a NES clone with a so-called NES-on-a-chip but it's still nothing short of impressive.

PIRATE CART BY COLOR DREAMS?
April 21st, 2008 - 4:31 pm - Posted by Martin Comments: 0
I was searching ebay the other day when I stumbled upon this weird looking cartridge that reminded me of something I had seen before, actually I was quite certain I knew what it was.

So I picked up the cartridge for 8 euros + shipping and a few days later the cartridge arrived.

Some of you may wonder what I'm babbling about, but this 4in1 cartridge has the exact same shape as the carrtridge design Color Dreams scrapped before going baby blue. On the picture on the left you see two carts, the one in the back is an old Captain Comic prototype and the other is... yes drumroll please... the pirate cart I picked up.

Now this makes me wonder if Color Dreams somehow was connected to pirate outlets in Asia? and maybe that was why they made Mr. Assy and Miss Peach World for the Asian market during late nights?

Yeah one does wonder... hehe...

PREPARE TO PLAY A BRAND NEW NES GAME
April 1st, 2008 - 12:23 pm - Posted by Martin Comments: 0

The NES may have been abandoned by the well known publishers like Konami and Capcom, well and anyone else really. But that doesn't stop RetroZone from developing and releasing a brand new NES game for us to play.

Brian Parker of RetroZone (www.retrousb.com) has been busy coding a game called Glider, a port of an old Mac game but with new things added. The plot is to fly a paper plane through a house while avoiding anything that could damage your plane.

The game will retail at $42 + shipping and includes box, dustcover, manual to provide a true feeling of playing a brand new NES game. I almost forgot to mention that it'll be the first of its kind for the NES as the game can be upgraded with new houses, using a CopyNES.

For more information please visit RetroZone's website and start saving ;-)
