DR. FRANKEN REPRODUCTION AVAILABLE
May 23rd, 2010 - 4:52 pm - Posted by Martin Comments: 0

Coinheaven of theNESdump has done it again. This time it's a CIB release of one of my favourite games ever, on the Gameboy that is... Dr. Franken!

Unfortunately the NES port of Dr. Franken never got to see the light of day as a regular NES release back in the day. But here's your chance to own an awesome game for $45 shipped.

Man this is starting to sound like a sales speech, but this release really is a must getter if you ask me.

NEW BOOK OUT
May 9th, 2010 - 4:54 pm - Posted by Martin Comments: 0

I think this post on our forum deserves a news post as well. Jose R. Leon, a gamer like us, has written a book about his encounter with video games, from the early days up and until now.

The book is 106 pages and is titled "Lost in a Video Game World - my life in a cartridge". I personally havn't read the book, yet, but the sales prices is only $10 shipped within the US, and that sounds like a real bargain to me.

RETROUSB HAS ANNOUNCED ITS NEXT PRODUCT: RETROVISION
May 6th, 2010 - 9:20 am - Posted by Martin Comments: 0

Not too long ago RetroUSB announced its next product, called RetroVision.

Some of you may have heard of the Biederman Gameboy Adapter that was being developed for the Nintendo Entertainment System back in the day, but never got released or even massively advertised.

Camerica was supposed to released a gameboy adapter for the NES, and it could've been the Biederman device, but again, it never happened.

Now I'm guessing that Brian from RetroUSB somehow was inspired by the old photo and he set off to construct a device similar to the Biederman adapter.

The RetroVision will retail, once available, for $130 incl. shipping which may seem a bit steep. But please note that a lot of work goes into making this thing as an old Gameboy is fitted into an actual NES cartridge and then connected to a NES circuit board that translates the Gameboy signals to NES and vice versa.

Awsome stuff for sure!
