N64 VIDEO GAME ENHANCER - GAMESHARK
CHEATERS DELIGHT
I had never heard of this device until a few years ago, but since then I've seen a few show up here and there.

What we have is a cheat device for the Asian market, basicly called "Video Game Enhancer" unless the chinese writing (I'm guessing) on the box says something else. The device is most likely made by EMS HK or Super UFO company, it looks like something out of their factories, but there is no mention of a manufacturor anywhere on the box.

This is basicly a rip off of a Gameshark and it even features a Gameshark logo when it boots, although I am pretty sure neither InterAct nor the manufacturor of the Gameshark/Action Replay, Datel Electronics, approved this sad excuse of a rip off - heck it even ueses the old NES Game Genie "Video Game Enhancer" subtitle.

Now how can I claim that this is a rip off? Well all Gameshark/Action Replay's contains a chip called "GAR" which holds the Gameshark/Action Replay program, the Video Game Enhancer however does not.

The Video Game Enhancer offers pretty much the same features as the original Gameshark, as well as the original you are also able to enter new codes and as it's compatible with the Action Replay, new codes were available from Datel or InterAct.

One thing about this device that's really funny is the memory card manager that seems unable to read anything what so ever, I've tried 3 different unlicensed controller paks and it was unable to read either of them.

All in all a sad rip off of the Gameshark and it's not even upgradeable it seems.
