BIO FORCE APE "REMAKE" IN THE WORKS
March 16th, 2010 - 4:03 pm - Posted by Martin Comments: 0

Announced yesterday,March 15, and I'm not really sure what to think of it yet, who knows it could be a bad joke.

Either way it seems that "someone" is working on a remakeof Bio Force Ape, or at least a homebrewn game similar to what "someone" believe the unreleased NES game Bio Force Ape would've played like.

Why does preorder open April 1st tho? :-)

Bio Force Ape is a completely new game being written and designed for the Nintendo Entertainment System (the old toaster looking thing you played video games on back in the ’80s). This is not a “rom hack”, this isn’t an unreleased game that’s being edited, this is an entirely new game being written and designed from scratch.

Bio Force Ape is a beat-em-up game in a similar style to the Double Dragon games that were released on the NES back in the 80’s. It has multiple levels, cut-scenes, bosses, and even an out of control mine cart ride. It is planned to be released at the Clasic Gaming Expo in Los Vegas at the end of July in 2010.

In the mean time, we will be releasing a competition cart based on Bio Force Ape at the Midwest Gaming Classic. Online orders will open up on April 1, 2010.

Could it be that this demo is becoming an actual game? :-)

Well back then my article didn't see the light of day either, but I finally decided to finish it with the info I had available to me and the result can be found here.

REPRODUCTION OF TIME DIVER: EON MAN AVAILABLE
March 12th, 2010 - 4:12 pm - Posted by Martin Comments: 0

Over at www.thenesdump.com coinheaven has been unloading reproductions of just about every hack and prototype known to NES collectors/gamers out there.

Lately everything has taken another route, for the better I might add. Now the reproductions are being shipped either with a cardboard or VHS plastic like box for the complete feeling of holding a new NES game in your hands.

Well now about Time Diver, the story is actually quite strange. Back in the day the Taito developed game went unreleased for unknown reasons, but somehow a copy of the game ended up in the hands of pirate outlet Nitra and the game reached the masses with a changed titlescreen, the game was now Time Diver Avenger.

Years later though an actual prototype of the game was discovered, and thanks to both Nitra and the proto find, we are able to play Time Diver: Eon Man today.

According to the game designer Shouichi Yoshikawa, Time Diver was originallu going to be a sequel to Wrath of the Black Mantra before changing direction to what became Time Diver.

Well thenesdump has created a cardboard box for the game along with a very nice poster for the 100 first of 250 carts to be made, so you may want to head over there and buy a copy before the posters are gone...

Click here to go to their Time Diver ordering page and no I wasn't paid to write all of this, but I'd like to show my support towards a great initiative like this.
