Title: What should I put on my EPROM cart?
Post by jasonlotp on 24. Mar 2006 at 17:38
I just desoldered an old Ice Hockey board and put in some IC sockets and now I can burn any mapper0/NROM game I want. Question is what should I put on my cart?
1. European only game?
2. Japan only game?
3. Proto game?
4. Hack?

I need suggestions, my requirements are that the game should run well on real NES hardware and be fun.  8)

I'm also going to be making mapper 1, 2, 3 and 4 socketed boards too and I need suggestions for good games to put on those.

Super Mario Bros!  It would be so worth it...   ;)

Are you using eproms or flash memory?  If you use flash, it's easier to rewrite it and put whatever you want on them...

Put Beauty and the Beast on there.

you're kinda limited to what games you can put on what carts.  Play some unreleased games on an emulator.  If you like them, put them on and enjoy!!!

Would this game still have the same graphical glitches that the PAL cart has (on NTSC machines, that is)?

I would also recommend PAL exclusives, though, unless there is a great homebrew or unreleased game out there.  For PAL exclusives I can definitely recommend either Prince Valiant, Super Turrican, or Over Horizon.  New Ghostbusters II is also good, but not quite as good as those other three.

Got to be a way you can make it work NTSC style.

I've heard of people being able to play some PAL titles on NTSC systems using a game genie.  The Game Genie modifies certain memory locations in RAM to make the PAL game play perfectly fine!

Put California Raisins on there.

Yup, that works fine for Ufouria, but i don't know other games that support this nice "feature".

Bombsweeper is an NROM game,  and its surprisingly fun.
It is a homebrew port of the game and watch, but he added new levels.
