yeah we have all seen the lists for the top ten rarest games. NWCs,panesians,cheetmen caltron and stadium events etc etc but what about the games everyone can afford.

since ive been lookinng for these boxes for a very long time I think I have a good idea of the hardest ones to find

chubby cherub     one on ebay in last 8 months

sqoon  havent seen one on ebay in 8 months..except for one missing the top of the box

fisher price firehouse rescue...havent seen one in months

I'd have to agree with what wrldstrman says. Here's my list:

Best of the Best - I don't think I've ever seen the box for this game

Chubby Cherub - We all missed THIS auction. That makes 2 in the past 8 months.

Jimmy Connor's Tennis - Sosafan2 and myself have one on ebay for sale right now (even though I really don't want to sell it; I think my price is high and use it as an attraction)

Challenge of the Dragon - Only seen a handful of these boxes

Sachen games - Well, Sachen games themselves are hard to find let alone their boxes/manuals.

Sqoon - THIS auction ended just the other day complete

Mickey's Adventure in Numberland - I think I've only seen it complete twice....

Sunday Funday - Until recently when billmarioman got a hold of a bunch of the boxes and has been selling them on ebay. The cart is still extremely hard to find though.

Pro Sport Hockey - I think this is harder to find than Jimmy Connor's Tennis. Even though one just sold recently on ebay....

And probably the hardest PAL game to find complete (not Rodland):
SMB/Tetris/NW Cup - I didn't even know this game came with a box until someone over at DP showed one for it.

Those are the ones I can think of right now. I might have to change it later. But I really wouldn't say Menace Beach and Bonk's Adventure would be in this catagory because if they show up complete on Ebay then they most likely go more than that.

Interesting. They probably only got that box in Spain. In Germany the pack-in game of that set didn't come with a separate box.

One also just turned up in the wild ;)  Buddy scored it for $10 CIB...I'm trying to get him to trade it as we speak...

I have seen 3 Jimmy Conners CIB at the local flea markets for like 20 each.  I keep thinking about getting them, but figure I already have it so why bother.  Maybe if I can talk them down a little.

NGD, I don't think you will regret getting it if in the long run you want to get the boxes and manuals for your games. The manual is hard to find but the box is EXTREMELY hard to find. You always find the box with the game and manual so you would have to buy it CIB sometime. And at $20 that's a steal for that game complete.

I already have it CIB Hounder.  I got it at a flea market for $3 bucks forever ago.  I will try and pick them up one at a time and see if anyone wants them.  I already had a few pm's asking me to do so.  I will see what I can do next weekend.

This thread has me all excited because I have some of these games.  For those of you I haven't gotten the chance to deal with yet, my name is Bryan.  I have been collecting for about 6 months and I am a complete addict.

I actually have these games boxed/complete.  Best of the best, rockin kats (2nd copy is en route), operation secret storm, & megaman.

I would also like to say that since I have been around here, everyone I have talked to or dealt with on this site has been very helpful and very friendly.  Very cool site and gaming community.

I don't collect completes since I left for college (barely enough room for cart-onlys), but the rarest box I had was Donkey Kong Jr. Math.  I snagged a buy it now on a complete for $19.99 at 4am one day.

I ended up getting dragon warrior IV and Ufouria for it.

funny thing about the dk math box although not easy to find it wasnt to hard to score for a decent price til the two newbies bid the one box up to 700.00 dollars from that point on everyone seems to think its the rarest box ever...of course neither bidder paid for the box

You're probably right about dk math but it's certainly one of the coolest difficult boxes out there.

Mostly in that order. DK Jr Math, Race America, Clu Clu Land, Rockin Kats, Challenge of the Dragon, Bonk's Adventures, Secret Scout, Mission Cobra, and Menace Beach would probably come close to tying for the next hardest to find.

Also, when was the last Wayne's World box sold on ebay? That game is a pain to find complete. It's a pain to find just the manual and/or cart let alone the box.

Damn, Mickey's Adv. in Numberland box is that hard to find?  I saw a mib one in an auction or something on a European eBay not too long ago and just ignored it.  

By the way, how hard is it to find a box for Conan?

conan ,is hard to find the box to...also little samson,little ninja brothers,cool world,crash n the boys..I agree there are a lot of nes boxes that dont show up very often...also sword master isnt very easy to find

Not sure I agree with you on Chiller and Bandit Kings.  I have had 3 each of those without even looking really.  I still have a Chiller one in fact.  Everyone is leaving out the ungodly rare version of Athletic World that Dain picked up a few months back.  I have only seen it for sale ever twice.

I have both of those as well, but I had trouble finding a minty chiller box for some reason. it seemed like they had all been cutout to fit into cases or were in absolutely terrible condition. bandit kings was kind of difficult for me as well, not sure how rare it is exactly though. i would agree those are the two easiest to find of my personal 10 though.

i forgot to mention goal 2 that one isnt to easy to find...i would have to say when it comes to nes collecting the carts are a breeze to find compared to the boxes and some manuals

Huh, another green Color Dreams cart. Interesting. This is the second one I've seen that exact same color this week. But it doesn't really look to be due to discoloration or anything.

You can't even find those two complete anywhere. Or maybe even Die Hard but that shows up every now and then at least.

Well, I'm pretty certain the green carts are due to discoloration.  Discoloration generally creates a yellowish look, mixed with the original blue of the cartridge, creates a green look.  I've seen enough discolored carts and consoles that are completely and evenly discolored, so I believe the green CD carts are just discolored.  I guess ya never know though ;)

I agree Speedy.  Were had a thread about it at nesforums and I said the same thing.  But he needed both games so he picked them up for cheap just to make sure.  I am nearly certain the inside will be blue....but you never know.

Yah this was a non-event they're of course sunfaded. There was no inspection more than simply looking at their sides/back. However, I am happy to have two more carts for my collection. I hope that doesn't change when I plug them in and play them :)

what about panic restaurant?

To me this box isn't hard to find. It just goes for high prices because people think it's hard to track down. They pop up on ebay at least a couple times a month if not more.
