Title: Famicom Stadium Events Post by NationalGameDepot on 16. Jun 2006 at 20:03
I got these in the mail today from Qixmaster. FamicomJL says that one is a Stadium Events (blue one) and the other is a Athletic World (green one). Does anyone have any more info on them. How much are these babies worth for my curiosity? I don't know pooh about Fami stuff.
Thanks FamicomJL for the previous info, very helpful. ~~NGD |

Still considering eBaying them?

I am keeping SE for sure, and am going to try and find a PAL SE so I have one of each. I might sale Althletic World. I was hoping someone else would post with some knowledge about them, maybe that means they are hella rare.

Interesting find, NGD. Never knew that SE was released for the famicom. Of course, I'm no famicom expert but I've never seen one of these up for sale anywhere.

It's cool to see the same box art for Stadium Events for famicom is the same as NES. It's one of my fav box arts.

Yeah, it's pretty cool looking. And expect me to go after Athletic World if it's eBayed. :)

I saw "Family Trainer 1: Athletic World" at a place where that I usually consider their stuff overpriced and it was $18. I don't think the US got but family trianer 1, 2, and 3, but there were around 10 over there.
"Family Trainer 2: Running Stadium" is .... yes, you guessed it! Stadium events... "Family Trainer 3: Aerobics Studio" is dance arobics, I think. if I were making a guess, I'd say that neither were worth more than $10 over there. I'm sure you could get more for Stadium events if you put Stadium Events in the title on ebay... :) I've heard the series called by the year as if they all came one year after another starting in '86 (ie Family Trainer '86 is Athletic World). The only problem with that is that I don't think they came out one year after another. I think that a bunch of them came out in '87 especially. I guess the pad hit it off bigger over there... |

Title: Re: Famicom Stadium Events Post by FamicomJL on 23. Jun 2006 at 18:47
$10 there, but here? Has to net atleast $100. Indeed, they're very common over in Japan, but the only reason why is that the Family Trainer Fitness Pad actually did REALLY WELL in Japan, while we were too damn lazy to use the thing. I just wish the Family Trainer carts would show up on eBay more. They'd be a good snag.

I know the famicom 4 player adaptor isn't compatable with the NES one. How compatable are these famicom games with a NES pad?

Title: Re: Famicom Stadium Events Post by NationalGameDepot on 24. Jun 2006 at 03:42
I haven't been very successful with getting them to work. :-/ I don't have a Famicom system, and the converter I have is sketchy at best. I got the SE title screen to come up twice, then then it blinked away. So I know the games work, I just need something better to test them on.

you don't have an "official" nes converter laying around or in a game? That's still all I use and I love it... :)

If I didn't plan on bidding on it I would've gladly posted it. I'll keep an eye out for others, and I'll let you know if I come across any, as I'm sure you want/need them more than I would ;) |

Here's another. A little more expensive, however. http://cgi.ebay.com/FC-famicom-game-Athletic-World_W0QQitemZ180000373580QQcategoryZ3605QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I'm beginning to think that one NGD's got isn't worth too much. But still don't know much about the SE cart. |

Title: Re: Famicom Stadium Events Post by NationalGameDepot on 26. Jun 2006 at 02:27
I am beginning to think the same thing JC, but I still think it is pretty cool. I will try to find a PAL SE now, I will have all 3, would be a cool picture to have I think.
There you go FamicaomJL, a cheap ass copy of one for you. ~~NGD |

Title: Re: Famicom Stadium Events Post by FamicomJL on 26. Jun 2006 at 17:09
...And I missed it. I only buy from Japan, The U.S., and Canada anyway...

Title: Re: Famicom Stadium Events Post by JC on 26. Jun 2006 at 20:53
Wonder who snagged that from under you.
You should consider buying from that seller, if you don't mind his prices. He's reliable and the shipping is quick for how for it's got to travel. |

Title: Re: Famicom Stadium Events Post by FamicomJL on 26. Jun 2006 at 23:45
But like I said, only Japan, U.S., Canada, and the U.K. to an extent really...

Nope. I haven't really done to much digging though. Been very busy with other projects. I am just glad I have it, I still think it is pretty rare, but who knows. Just cause it sales cheap doesn't mean it isn't rare.

Title: Re: Famicom Stadium Events Post by JC on 19. Oct 2006 at 15:23
Michael says it's worth $20 to $25 and featherpluckinfilms says it's not hard to come by in Japan. So, I'm guessing that means it's not as rare as we had been thinking.

|
Title: Re: Famicom Stadium Events Post by Hounder on 19. Oct 2006 at 18:09
If it's not that rare, I would love to get a hold of a boxed copy just to have :) Kinda nice knowing they aren't that hard to find.
After that all I would need is the PAL version and the cart and manual for the NTSC version :) |

Title: Re: Famicom Stadium Events Post by FamicomJL on 25. Oct 2006 at 21:23
Like I said at my forums, eBay worth is possible $100, but much much less for Famicom collectors.

A brand new one went for $50. In other words, not very valuable! |

Title: Re: Famicom Stadium Events Post by Hounder on 08. Nov 2006 at 03:30
I meant to bid and forgot. Oh well. I will contact the seller and see if he can track down another. I would like to have it just because it's a complete SE :)

Kris, aka featherpluck, is really cool. I'm sure he can find one for you. I wonder what he paid for the one he just sold.

Title: Re: Famicom Stadium Events Post by burnambill333 on 22. Nov 2006 at 00:23
I won the $50 brand new one. The only reason it ended for that price is because it carries the "Stadium Events" name and is brand new. I really doubt its that hard of a game to find. I have it in my possession now so if anybody wants any pictures or screenshots or more information about it please let me know.
