Title: Nintendo Demo/Display Unit's
Post by NationalGameDepot on 26. Jul 2006 at 03:15
I need a picture of the M8 demo unit to add to my game list.  Does anyone have a picture I can use.  I looked around on several sites but can't seem to find any pics/info on it.   :-/ HELP

EDIT
I have proof of the following demo/display units:
M8
M9
M14
M82

then we have rumor of a M7.

Does anyone know of any others??

Thanks Limbo.  I thought I had one also, but I can't seem to find it.  I have a M82, M14, and M9 pics, but am missing the M8 for some reason.  Are there any other demo/display systems??

Here are some picts of mine with box, set up as links instead of embedded to save those with slow modems  =]  I think I have some picts of the inside but they might not be good...

More picts, inside this time.  The inside is pretty much a giant multicart with the prg/chr roms of all the games.  That board is plugged into a standard nes board, controllers are standard ones that can be removed.  The red dip switches select horizontal/vertical mirroring.  None of the games need mappers so it is pretty simple.  Rev B is in one of the picts, dont know what Rev A changes...

Thanks for the pics bunnyboy :)

Here is the M14 pics:

I have never heard of a M7, what is it like?  I would stand to reason then that a demo version # M1-14 would exist then, right??  I wonder what they all are?

I have only seen mention of the M7, not what it actually is.  One site is http://schwillz.com/2.html (old portnoyd site?)  I think another said something about it being a display stand for the m8 but I really cant remember.

How are you able to find so many test centers to buy out?  :)

That my friend is the million dollar question.  I have 4 dup test stations right now that I need to sale.  I meant to list them while I had Dragon Wars up for auction, but haven't had time.

I will try to contact portnoyd and see if he has any pics of the M7 Display.  I may make a post at DP to see if anyone knows anything about it.

Does anyone know if there were ever any test stations in the UK? I'd love to get hold of one, but cost to import would just be too much for me right now! Maybe one day though.

There were not World Class Repair Centers in Europe, so the answer is no test stations for you.  The only ones that I know that are in Europe belong to shrimp, I sold him 2 SNES test stations a few months back.  It didn't cost as much as I expected to ship them either, like 90 bucks I think.

A friend of mine in Oslo, Norway has a NES teststation. I think he bought it of eBay - I'll ask him the next time I see him.

I sold a SNES test station to a guy in the UK about 7 months ago, only cost me about $50 to ship.  Got held up in customs for like 3 months though befor the guy finally got it.
