Title: It's Finished!!
Post by Jedi QuestMaster on 01. Aug 2006 at 00:43
I have basically completed my small hack project & now need people to test it out to make sure there's nothing wrong with it before I send it to Romhacking.net.

This is just a checkpoint; I'll probably be editing more stuff.  As soon as I'm done with this, I'll continue on a more ambitious project.

Edit: Don't need to hide this anymore.

What?  Only one person?  Do I have to take my business elsewheres? ;D
Maybe I need to wait longer.  Are you having overheating problems?  I get that with my laptop - it shuts down. :(

I've got another version coming up, & it's probably going to be the final version.

Anybody who has played it what emulator were you using?

I found glitches when using FCE Ultra & NESten.

I've tested it using VirtuaNES and I've completed the game and found NO problems ... :D

Completed it already, eh?  Maybe that's a problem?  Did you play from start to finish?

Anyway, a few things I'd like to ask:

1. The stage names - should the first boss be 'Rooftop' or 'Helicopter' ?  I originally had it as Helicopter but decided to change the name to the setting instead.  Likewise, should the second boss be 'Concourse' or 'Tank' ?  The rest of the bosses, the setting seems to pretty much be the boss so they'll stay.

2. ANY glitches? - In FCE Ultra on stages 3 & 4, the player will sometimes get stuck as the scrolling gets messed up.  In NESTen, when the player is attacked, the game resets.  In NESTopia & Nintendulator, there are absolutely no problems I can see.

3. Oh wait, pending... for the next release! ;D

well for the first , make it Rooftops , and for the second , Concourse ;) Now I did see a little problem with the scrooling but I thought it was the game itself ... plus , when many enemyes are around , the FPS tends to drop a little ... but I guess it's because of the emulator , cause the 8 bit console would never do that .... right ?? And yes , I've finished it top-bottom :) . And I am waiting for your next release :D

I use FCEUltra and i noticed the scrolling problem. Otherwise your hack is plain fun.

Should I worry about that problem?  I tried the original, unhacked Journey To Silius to see if the problem would happen on that, but it hasn't done that to me.

I've been told that Nintendulator is the most accurate emulator around, & I have no problems with that.

Can a moderator please move this to the Development section?  I just realized it belongs there.

Thanks to those who took the time to try out the beta version to help ensure there weren't any glitches - well, there weren't any glitches either way, but thanks anyway.
