Climbing a fricken 380 foot tree just to drop measuring tape?!

Locally in Kansas they had people vote worst job in the world for a tv camera crew.  Turns out the camera crew, who worked for one of those reality tv shows picked McConnel AFB's Air FOrce mechanics who crawl into the wing of a plane to do maintenance as one of the worst ever.  When they crawl in they are laying in puddles of jet fuel that can really f' you up, damage your skin, give you cancer, and just plan sucky job.   The funny thing is dad was doing that 20 years ago working at Boeing, except he didn't have body suits and a mask.

I'm sure that there are better ways to measure the height of those trees. I remember a film on TV where they had a small blimp to examine trees in the jungle.
