I plan to get both at launch.  I already have a few friends that I'll be camping out with.  I want the Wii so I can play the shit out of Zelda Twilight Princess until my eyes bleed.  I only have interest in PS3 to resell it.

I really want a Wii, but I think I'll wait a year.  There's almost always a better deal by the second Christmas.  That and I want so many DS games this year!

Anyway, to answer the question, the answer is no on both :) Im getting a PS3 for sure, but not on launch. Since it was delayed in Europe it will still be about a year before i can get it, unless i win the lottery lol. I will possibly get a Wii later on, but its long down on my priority list.

I will get a Wii the day it comes out, even if I have to miss work to get one.  I have been waiting over a year to own this beast.  

Screw PS3, I HATE Sony.  I hope the PS3 will ruin them. >:( I might get a 360 some day, if I can find one cheap.

No idea to be honest. I mean i read 4 mill to USA, but i might be wrong.

I'll be getting both, but will be reselling the PS3 via eBay once they finally sell out. Easy way to make 2-3x the system and pocket it the money and use it towards something else or pretty much buy one for free once the backorder is gone.

I'll be keeping the Wii though.

I would like to get both but I won't until prices go down. I might buy a PS3 at launch just to resell. But I keep thinking with my luck I wouldn't make much money off of it. I will still try and get one though. Who knows maybe I can double my money.

I thought so too, but it wont happend. They will launch 30 old Nintendo game, i guess 10-15 are NES games and these will cost from $5 - $10. They will add new games each month, but they said only about 10 (this can change). So in most cases, buying the original game will be cheaper since they will only add the most popular games like Mario etc. to start wtih, atleast i assume so.

Rare games are collector items so these prices wont go down because of Wii. All the NES games have been easily avalible for free download on the net for years now, still it havnt affected the price. People prefer the originals :)

I am going to TRY and get both.  I want to get a PS3 now just to resale as soon as I buy it.  If I can do that, I hope to pay for my Wii with money from the PS3, and maybe even make a little profit.  Not sure if I will be that lucky or not. If not, I will get a Wii anyway.  That will be my parting gift before I stop buying game stuff for a year or 2.

I'm seriously considering trying to get a ps3 to resell.  I could use the money, and with the guaranteed shortage I think it's almost a sure thing to make a profit.  What I don't know is how exactly the whole thing works.  Like say the best buy in my city gets 100 systems, but they have 400 preorders.  If I camp out, even if I'm first in line, I'll come away with nothing.  Or am I wrong?  Also, when is the launch day anyway?

If they pre order you are wasting your time.  The Best Buys here don't though, it is first come first served.  The launched it Nov 17, 2 days before the Wii.  But I heard today that they may be pushing there launch back be a few days cause of some problems.  Not sure if that is certain yet, but it is what I heard.

Does anyone have any idea about how early you would need to camp out to get a system?  I myself have never done it before, so I have no clue.  If it does release the 17th that's a Friday, and I don't have classes that day.  I would be free at 3 on Thursday, so I could camp starting then.  Would that be enough?  And how the heck do you go to the bathroom?

I plan to go as soon as I get off work, but I may get a friend to set for me until I can get off work and just offer to buy them dinner or something.  Try to take a friend with you if you can, that way bathroom breaks are easy, otherwise it is a crapshoot whether or not someone will hold the space for you while you pee.  I am going to go to Walmart cause they will let you set in the store at customer service to wait.  Best Buy makes you set outside, and it is way to cold for that shit.

ha, well I live in a college town, and I'm pretty sure that's a bad thing.  But Wal-Mart lets you sit inside?  Do they give you tickets, or how they do they handle the order that people came in?  If they gave you tickets bathroom breaks would be cake, you could get your ticket and just roam the store until morning.

well my walmart is different. this what they did with the 360. we had to stand outside in the cold and rain until 7:00 when they opened the doors. then  they gave us tickets as we entered.

I plan on going to my 24 hour Wal-Mart, so I guess I'll be waiting inside the store in the electronics department.  The store never closes, so it's not like I'll have to leave when they close.  

All stores are different though, it really depends on how the store decides to handle this kinda thing.

Exactly, my Walmart is 24 hours also, all the ones around here are.  Previously they made you set near the layaway dept in the back cause it closes pretty early.  They didn't do tickets or anything so you had to stay in line.  I would take a buddy just to be safe and play some 2 player DS action.

The legal thingie is pretty much empty words imo. I never heard of anyone who sued and won (never heard of sued anyway hehe) because a guy didnt pay on Ebay. You cant exactly force the guy to pay, but you can get him to cover the expences lost around the sale. Wont be that much tho since Ebay refunds sales provision if payment isnt done.

Price are going down alot. I saw a 20gb model that ended at $802 and a 60gb model ending at $921. No suprise tho, not to sound "important", but i knew this was going to happend. I waited in line at Walmart for about 13 hours to get it.  They received 31 Wii's and the line was full before 2 pm.  There isn't a Wii left anywhere in Knoxville, I had a friend driving all over the place to find one.  The controls will BLOW you AWAY, they are 10x better than I expected.  I have only played Wii Sports so far, which is fair at best.  I have Red Steel and am going to get 3 more games to night, I will post more later after work.

I got my Wii also! :)  It freaking rules!  So far I played the hell out of Wii Sports and now I am playing Zelda TP.  Those are the only games I got so far but I'll be getting Metal Slug Anthology soon too.   :)  Nintendo wins!!

I connected right through my linksys pretty easily.  I haven't actually dowloaded any games, just updated the system.  I hooked up the little Mii character, and there is a plaza where if you enable "travel" other local characters can come by and chat it up or something.  

The system is awesome so far, I've only tapped into Wii sports bowling using the character I created, but that was really fun - I played like 5 games and did some of the training.  

I spent all night at walmart in a tent and was number 17 and 18(w/ my girl) out of 30 who got vouchers/systems.  I had to head over to target to pick up an extra controller and nunchuk, and zelda of course.  

I've got another Wii system bundle that we were going to put up on ebay to cover some of the cost that I couldn't really afford.  BIN for 599.99 sound fair?  bidding is only starting at 299.99 as well.  PM me if you are interested as the auction hasn't started yet (its scheduled to start at 7PM EST.

Sad that Nintendo also have problems with the launch, but on the other hand i think this is a wakeup call to the fanboys who laughed and said "Sony sux!" when PS3 had the PSX/PS2 compability problem. Nintendo also didnt make TG16 game to launch for VC and Opera isnt ready, same with the Internet Channel (maybe it requires Opera tho). Wii is a new and more advance console so its bigger chances for problems to accur, same with PS3 and 360 too.
