I am trying to find complete release dates (at least month/year) for the following games:

Famicom Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!
Famicom Punch-Out!!
Famicom Punch-Out!! Special
NES Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!
NES Punch-Out!!

(I don't actually know if Punch-Out!! (not Special) was ever released without the "Mike Tyson's" for the Famicom.)

According to the list I have from Nintendo Game Zone, it says Punch Out!! (featuring Mr. Dream) came out October 1987, & it doesn't list Mike Tyson's Punch Out!! :-?

Are you talking about the NES or Famicom? Either way, pretty strange. Maybe you need to get yourself a better list. ;)

I've seen several lists with varying info....so I figured the only way to get the info right is to ask the question here.

Whats "Special" about "Famicom Punch-Out!! Special" ???

I only have the Mike Tyson and Mr. Dream version for PAL-B... Is there any new characters in the Famicom special version?

I tried some roms and found out that the color of the ring in the Japanese version where more green/blue then the other versions wich are just blue. (The first 3 matches). Even the passwords are changed... Is there anything else that's different?

They probably got their information from the "official" list at nintendo.com.  There are a few games that weren't listed on that list.  I'm assuming they left that off as if they never had anything to do with Mike Tyson or something :P  The Tengen games that were actually licensed before the whole lawsuit thing are also not on Nintendo's official list.  Kinda lame if you ask me, but oh well.

You're right about those two changes. I just played it last night and those are the only two differences I noticed, but then again I'm not a big Punch-Out fan. What makes this "Special" (and that's the given name, not my name for it) is that it had a limited release in 1987, I think just prior to the release of Mike Tyson's Punch-Out in the US and Japan. I also think it might be called "Special" because Punch-Out (without Tyson) was never released in Japan, but this one was (sort of). This Punch-Out was a competition prize from the Nintendo Famicom Golf US Tournament, which was held in 1987 in Japan. The only way to get it was by participating in (and winning?) some part of the competition. The cartridge is gold, and it was given out in a limited number (I don't yet know how many).

Anyone got those release dates? I want to make sure it was a pre-release.
