I now have 2 cib copies of Fire N Ice.  It's so strange, because they both have a slit in the side of the box, on the same side of the box, measuring all the way across the box.  There are no slits in the other side of the boxes.  The slits are consistant with each other.  Due to their length and depth, they both look like they were caused the same way, and I acquired them from 2 completely different sources.  I have NEVER seen anything like this before, and I have handled a lot of NES boxes in my day.  

Isn't this strange?  Are any other Fire N Ice boxes like this, or is this just some odd coincidence?  Does anybody know what would cause this?

looks like when they first came to a retail store the person putting them out used a box cutter to open the box and sliced into the game box..was wierd you ran across two of them.

I think that it's a coincidence that you got two like that. My King Neptune's Adventure box had the same thing. Can't say I was too happy about that since the box is so hard to track down and I didn't want to have to replace it.

Tough luck man, it sure isn't normal. Just bad luck, unfortunatly. Did the sellers note this or?

I checked my box and it doesn't have that slit.  I think oyu just got unlucky dude.

My box is not slit either.

It does look like somebody accidentily slit the box with a box cutter, but twice in the same exact spot for the same exact game?  Now that is one hell of a coincidence.
