I am looking to build my NES game collection:

Right now, I only have Contra, Super Contra, and Mike Tyson Punch Out.

I am looking to buy more games on ebay, but need to find out what other great games there are for NES:

Please help.

I am looking for great games for single and double players. NO RPG GAMES THOUGH, nvr been a fan of them, too much thinking. What are your recommendations?

My favorites: SMB 1, 2, and 3; Bubble Bobble; Snake Rattle N Roll; Mega Man 1-6; Kirby's Adventure; Tecmo Super Bowl.

I would start buying basically anything made by Capcom, you can't go wrong with the Mega Man games, gunsmoke, Trojan, or legendary Wings. How about the Zeldas, Castlevanias, Metroid, Kid Icarus or Ninja Gaiden games? There are plenty of RPGs like Final Fantasy, Faxanadu or the Dragon Warrior games. those are all solid collection starting titles.

river city ransom, wrecking crew, burgertime, tmnt, and one of my favorite rpg's was ghost lion.

I tend to agree re most of the capcoms being good, many/most of the konamis are too.

Life force in particular.

I also agree with getting Crapcom games. ;D

That company always seemed evil to me, but their NES lineup is flawless. :o

But I urge you to shop around before going to Ebay - have you searched everywhere locally?

These are quite enjoyable: Toki, Metal Storm, Shatterhand, Rad Gravity also Gremlins 2 is very fun and the Wizard & Warriors series.

Solar Jetman is my favorite game. Panic Restaurant is also good clean fun :)

Must haves:

River City Ransom
SMB 2 and 3
Metroid
Arkanoid (with Vaus, if you can get it, makes it 10x more fun)

I also like Adventure Island and Tetris, although you can get them on other systems. I guess that goes for Arkanoid, too, but the Vaus is the best.

Stay away from ebay. That place is evil. Look around at pawn shops. They are gold mines. Ebay is full of folks overcharging every "RARE" game they have.

i always loved rolling thunder as a kid. none of my friends liked it though. i thought it was a great game, but maybe it was just me.

I always played blaster master. Very Very Fun. Also loved boulderdash. Never beat either one though. Still fun though.

One of my favorite games is called Little Samson. This game is actually somewhat rare, and usually sales for around 40 on eBay. However, if you like the Mega Man games (and most of us do) then you'll probably love Little Samson. It's one of my favorite titles.
