Not talking hardest games here but games that just get under your skin.  Games that make me act like I'm ten years old instead of thrity.  Throwing the controller, yelling at the screen repeatedly, jumping around like an idiot.

I'll start by nominating the first ninja gaiden.  Its the reason I started this thread.  Not really all that hard of a game but good lord those eagles get obnoxious.  First instinct every damn time:  Eagle coming at you....jump and slice it.  Never works.  I know it doesnt work.  You have to wait until it makes a pass and then just stand there and kill it.  So I do, then....Hey there is another eagle coming...you know what to do....jump and slice it.........ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

And then I yell and screem like a little kid.

This is my kinda topic.  ;)

I think just about every NES game has gotten under my skin at one point in time--EVERY one of them. Hell, even Kirby's Adventure made me scream at the TV!

Super Mario Bros...after 18 years, I still can't beat it :(

Theres been a few for me cant think of them right now.  Probally from the brain damage caused by me head butting the Controller. :-?

I got another one here...not really NES though...anyway, I was playing NHL 2K5 about a year and a half ago.  I pwnt the game, most times, but every now and then the computer would just dumb down your goalie, and Kiprussoff allowed 4 goals in 5 shots...seriously, what the hell?  So I got pissed off and drop-kicked my X-Box.  My then-roommate just pissed himself laughing, and then I started laughing, and we started reminiscing about how we used to get pissed off at games...and how some things never change :P

There's only one game (all formats...) that makes me do this. And it's SMB1, cause I always gotta try to speedrun it when I play and always die.

Dont know any particular games, but i remember that one of our NES controller had a big crack on the back due to angry moments lol ;)

IronSword W&W II, not that hard really by damn I would get so pissed at that game sometimes.  Damn eagles flying at you!

I do the same thing, I can easily beat it but I wanna do it fast and always die lol.

The Wizard. What do you mean you still haven't beet it. Do you have some rare harder version or what lol. How far can you get?

The game that would piss me right off was ghostbusters. For one its pretty boring and takes forever to buy stuff, then climbing those dam stairs. And when/If I finally reach the top. I can't beat the boss grrrrrrrrrrrr

FinalDay - I'm dead serious man.  I can get to 8-2, but thats as far as I can get.  I once did 6-4 without warping, but got bored and shut it off.  I don't know why, but that game will always be the bane of my existance.  I've beat harder games than that, but for some reason I just can't beat SMB.

I beat it...hella hard game.  I did no-death Hitman though...

Fester's Quest and Nightmare on Elm Street are my top two. I get so close in Elm Street and just die out of nowhere. Those damn bats! UGH!

I second that.  That game gets so damn annoying and frustrating.  Grrr last time I played that game with my bf it pissed us both off so much we eventually had to turn it off and give up.  I'm sure there was lots of controller throwing involved ;)

TMNT all the way! If you wanna know why, just watch angry Nintendo/video game nerd's review of it on youtube. I have had so many 'bite the controller' moments in that game!! Like how it's IMPOSSIBLE to get up some ladders without being killed! And when the damn enemies you killed come back just because you move out the screen then back in again!  >:(

ANN complains about everything, like that stupid gap you can just walk across. TMNT isn't the only game that does that.

I'm going to have to second TMNT..  The Technodrome is the most impossible level EVER.. doesn't matter how many times I play it or when I know things are coming.. I still can't beat it.. Ninja Gaiden is another one of those.. 'ok, I gotta jump over this..' *BAM* (hit in the air and knocks you into the pit)..

Actually, TMNT is really easy once you've got the patterns down.  The technodrome level is one of the simplest levels of them all.  The game gives you the ability to stock up on boomerangs and scrolls in levels 3 & 5 respectively.

I don't agree. I don't know of any level in TMNT that is actually easier than the Technodrome level. Let alone, that it is one of the simplest levels of that game.

Anyway, my nominees: Section Z and Burai Fighter.

I remember a moment of hilarity with Ninja Goddamn 2 (Yes, Goddamn, no longer Gaiden).  On this sewer-type level, this little hunched over dudes that do weird things with their hands, kept killing my friend in cheap ways until he snapped and called them "DICK TOUCHERS!!".

That and the end of Castlevania.  We couldn't beat Dracula, and since I noticed there were 2 revisions of the game, we determined that the one we were playing must've been "the royal-red-ass version".

Hmmm...I thought Section-Z seemed really hard at first, but once I figured out how to use special weapons, it was easy as pie, especially if you map out the stages. I beat it within an hour after that.

The only two games I ever hated so much that it made me want to kill somebody weren't NES games. One is an SNES game and the other is a Dreamcast game. But as for games on the NES that I've never been able to beat:

Dragon Warrior 2 - Never got through the Caves to Rhone.

Battletoads - There's this one part on the final level where you have to fall from a platform to a lower platform that's circling the tower at high speed, and I could never land on it. One of these days I really want to get past that so I can finally beat that game. Most of the other levels I can beat quite easily once I'm in practice.

Ironsword - Could never beat the four elementals at the end of the final level.

Well I have my complete dental set engraved into an old controller from back when I got my first NES and played SMB for the first time :-)

Haha, yeah after being influenced by a few years of Sonic, I've had hell playing the first SMB. Now and again, I can manage to clean up nicely though.

Oh man, I've gotta 2nd Ninja Gaiden.  I was playing it this morning for the first time in years and remembered why I never play it.  It's obnoxiously hard.  For me it wasn't so much the difficulty in actually playing the game, it was the horrible hit-detection and birds respawning every second.
