Title: aladdin games
Post by coinheaven on 21. Nov 2006 at 14:16
so i am down to my last 40 or so games and was wondering if it is necessary to get the aladdin games to complete my collection.  to me, they seem more of a variant since the original games were made by camerica as well.  i see the point if the game was made by tengen and another company.  any thoughts?

Its pretty much a variant indeed, but they are fairly easy to get. You can get a full sealed set for like $80. I would get them if i were u. I already have mine :)

Might as well pick them up since they're pretty easy and cheap to find now.  If you don't have them then somebody can say that your collection isn't truly complete, but if you do have them they can't say shit, so why not pick them up for a quick 80 bones?  Personally it doesn't matter either way to me.

I don't consider them part of the collection, but I still want to get them, moreso as a showpiece than anything else.  And I'm not sure, but I think one or two of them may have been Aladdin exclusive titles...not too sure though, I never really checked the list.

I wouldn't count that in my collection. Just because they don't look like nes carts. But after I finish my collection or if I'm very near and haven't bought anything in a while for it I would get them. No big deal if I don't have them.

Yeah, Dizzy the Adventurer was never released as a normal NES cart. The game Fantastic Adventures of Dizzy also has improvements and additions that the NES version does not have.

I wouldn't consider them a necessity to finish your collection, but it really depends on your personal goal.  If you want them, I would get them at some point in the future...if you don't care, then I wouldn't bother.  There is no set definition of what a complete collection has to consist of...it's completely up to the collector to define that.

Although an accessories collector probably would need at least the deck enhancer ;)

yea, i definitely want to get them at some point, but now am focusing on the essentials. my girlfriend is moving in next year and we are going to drop about 10 grand on improvements to my house, sooo i have been buying like crazy lately.  i remember seeing tons of the sets on ebay a while ago, but not as much anymore.

True. I asked a Friend of mine who has a lot of old Bergsala-releases stacked away at his parents what he wanted for them and he thought he'd be getting $70 US for SMB3...

I saw a guy who wanted over $1000 for his NES with 4 common games. It wasnt even a typo or joke, a guy i know contacted him for fun and he was serious about it. He could give it to him for $800 ;D He thought it was worth ALOT because it was old.

$70 for a loose SMB3 is crazy, but i can honestly say i've sold a loose copy of SMB3 like $50. $50 isnt THAT much money here so people can afford it for to bring back the great memories with SMB3 :)
