Cart only they are common, boxed or CIB is a different story. Some of the ones up now are CIB hence the super high prices. I have a feeling it is only going to get worse too....the NES market still continues to rise....

The price for this cart is SO RIDICULOUS. It's like paying $100 for a freakin Contra cart.

Bubble Bobble (the first one) usually sales for around $20-25 loose. Part 2 is probably about as desired as the first one, but harder to find, so it brings a high amount. It sure as hell isn't a rare game though.

I defiently agree with you NGD the market is on the rise and more and more people are collecting. I see a lot of new ebayers bidding on games. Its a good and bad thing;
good, everyones collection is worth more but bad, its gonna be more costly to finish. but I am determined and eventually I will finish, but I do feel bad for all you guys collecting boxes and manuals, now thats a challenge a very costly challenge. Good luck to all of you. |

There used to be people that'd show up, grab a bunch of the high end games, say 'look at me, look at me!!!1' and about 3-4 months later sell everything they had gotten and never appear again. Those people are still around, but the thing is that there are even more of them now. Granted, there are a lot of collectors comming in that are actually interested in the collecting aspect and will probably become a mainstay in the 'scene,' but they aren't the ones going shit crazy on some of the games. As a whole when I'm seeing new members comming into different forums, the question asked isn't 'how rare is this?' but 'how much is this worth?' For some reason, I just feel that the prices for the higher end, hyped games will keep going up and you will see a lot more of them sold by ebayers who just purchased them a short time prior.

Holy shit! It brought in $450! God damn! That is a record for this game correct? I know Bronty just got a few more sealed games crossed off his list, I imagine this is one of them that he found sealed, which is why he is selling it, do you think? A CIB copy just sold for $175 BIN....a great price right now....an okay price 1 year ago....a ridiculious price 2 years ago. I remember thinking long and hard about buying Neal Slagle's (thepepsibum) copy for $200, and eventually decided that it was too much. Then Nintendonut bought it and showed it off and we all thought he paid too much. Man those were the days, and they weren't even that long ago! It seems like there have been a lot of boxes/manuals listed for this game lately for some reason. If you're looking for this game, and want to own a CIB copy, now is the time IMO (don't buy a CIB copy, piece one together, it's cheaper that way). |

Rarer titles are garnering a lot more than they used to, although I just really started noticing it a couple of months ago. I chalked it up to Tax Returns...but apparently that's not really the case. I remember winning a CIB King Neptune's for under $17 a year ago and selling off the box and manual for $10 to another user on this board (I wasn't collecting boxes and manuals at the time). Now look at this: http://cgi.ebay.com/NES-Nintendo-KING-NEPTUNES-ADVENTURE-Complete-Box-CIB_W0QQitemZ110114464927QQihZ001QQcategoryZ62053QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I think somewhere...maybe DP's online guide, it mentioned BB2 was rental-only, kind of in the same vein as F2. Any confirmation on that? Most of the copies I've seen are clean...

BB2 was rental only which is why the manual and box are so hard to find. But as for the cart, it's not $100 rare. $450 has got to be a record. That's insane but it was pretty mint. Also, I think this was a double for bronty. I believe he bought this along with a NWC cart and CIB Myriad off someone and then resold everything. Someone correct me if I'm wrong though.

You are correct hounder. This was a double for him that he picked up from a collector. I picked up some grade A items from him. Must have been one ridiculously nice collection.
