Title: -Price Check- On few factory sealed game. Post by FierceFoxx on 19. Apr 2007 at 04:59
I'm interested in buying a few of these games from an antique store nearby and some from ebay but I'm not sure of there average price so I don't want to get ripped off.
Tertris 1 Tertris 2 Final Fantasy Castlevania Super Mario Bros Thanks again for any help that is provided. ;) |

Your antique store carries new NES games? That's pretty cool. Anyway, this is what I think these games are worth sealed, with horizontal line, and in good condition: Tetris - $65 Tetris 2 - $30 Final Fantasy - $400 Castlevania - $250 Super Mario Bros - $200 These are my rough estimates, and I'm no sealed game pricing expert, so they may be off a little bit (but they're close) |

Slightly better pricing estimates would be:
Final Fantasy- $300 max Tetris 2- $35 max tetris- $40 max castlevania- $300 if really nice mario (I assume this is mario 1 and not classic series)- $200 also, when checking the sealed games in the antique store, check for a couple things. a) the seam on the back b) when any game is opened the first time, a white line where the box is being bent at will appear. For terrible reseals, you will be able to see this white line. For more experienced resealers, you will not be able to see the white line as they will have markered it or painted it in. The markers will often bleed and you can tell something is not right. The paint looks different texture-wise. |

The bit about there being a white line when you first open the game is NOT true. It takes repeated opening to wear out the fold in such a manner. None of the games I've opened to check contents are damaged like that. Even a few I've opened repeatedly to play (Conan being the biggest example) don't have it yet. If the game was opened once and resealed, chances are that the crease wouldn't show up. Just figured I'd let you know that :)

The sealed games I have opened you can see it. Sometimes it is thicker than other times, but every sealed game I have opened (a dozen or so) has the white line in some form or remnants of a white line.

The few I have opened didn't really show much either. But dark colored boxes will show it much more than a light colored box would. So that would make a big difference too.

They dont show much when you only open it once or twice, but they do show signs if you look closely. Not necessarily a thick white line with one opening, but the edges will show cracks and other similar signs.

White lines form on the bottom of boxes also if you flatten them.
Depending on how much you bend the flap, and the color of the box, it could be easy or hard to see if a white line formed. I do agree that if you are careful opening a sealed game, it would be VERY hard to see a white line formed if opened only a few times. |

I'm dead serious about no line. My copy of The Terminator has been opened a half-dozen times, and there's no line. Solid black box. I agree that the more it's opened the more likely that a line will form, but if you're careful you likely won't make them.

Thanks for the information guys. And just to make sure, the white line appears across the flap you open the game with right?
And any other information on those games are helpful. And any idea about Zelda or Zelda II factory sealed wise? |
