Title: My custom painted NES
Post by Bridgemute on 19. May 2007 at 04:47
I have recently picked up a pretty shabby lookin NES, so I had a couple more and I decided to slap a paint job on it. I picked up this NES for about $20 and it was incredibly dirty. Surprisingly, it plays very well.

It is not complete yet as I want to get a white NES decal to put across the top at an angle. Here is what I have so far:

You also changed the LED? :)

Yes I did:) It wasn't too bad at all. I think it really looks nice with the blue system and blue LED. I felt bad painting over the Nintendo logo on the front, but I think a white Nintendo decal will look pretty neat across the top. This was basically just for fun because I've never done anything like this to a system before.

It looks great, especially for being your first time doing it!  Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Thanks everyone :)

coinheaven,

I used a spray paint for plastic from ACE hardware. I would not recommend using this because it took forever to dry (even though it says it dries quick). To do the touch-up work around edges and painting the buttons i just sprayed some in the cap, let it sit for about 8-10 minutes and applied it. I also think the surface would look a hole heck of a lot better if an airbrush was used (which is what I'm going to do next time).

It looks pretty cool dude. Take picks when you get the logo up.
