Don't know if any of you have heard this band.  They cover nothing but original NES songs.

They have two albums.  Have a look at the track listings and 'acquire' the albums if you think you might like them.  I have to tell you, they are really good.  I didn't know all the songs, but they really rock.  You never really think of how great they are when you're focused on the game.  http://www.myspace.com/theadvantagemusic

Wow - they might just be better than The Minibosses.

When I play the games i usally just listen for the sounds of me getting hit by the bad guys :P .  I'm not too sure that I would crank the music full blast from my car stereo but it is pretty cool to listen to.

IMO, they're two different styles... minibosses have more of a prog rock/melodic metal sound. If that makes any sense.

I don't really like The Advantage much... perhaps I'm biased because I've seen the minibosses live.
