Title: 31 in 1? Post by Freedman on 17. Jun 2007 at 22:55
Hey, I just found a 31in1 Cart in a store, and wasn't really sure about it as I'm new to the collecting scene. Looked pretty interesting, had a blue ribbon coming out of it. Anyways, I checked NGD's list and couldn't find any info, so I put the game on hold and am going to wait to see what you guys have to say.
What is this? Is it rare? Should I pick it up for 24.99 Canadian? I took two pictures, but don't know how to add them lol. |

It's a pirate cart. It's not exceedingly rare, but NES pirates tend to sell decently. I think it's too expensive, since you'll find them cheaper elsewhere. Also, depends on the games on the cart. I think the 31 in 1 is among the more common one with more common games -- at least I see the 31 in 1 a lot when looking for Famicom pirates.

The ribbon you are referring to is probably a Famicom to NES adapter which you can detach and use with other Famicom games you find.
So its likely a 31 in 1 famicom cart plus the adapter for $25. I'm not sure what the value would be for either. I would think that the adapter is worth at least $5. And if you dont have one, its likely worth more to you, since it would allow you to play any famicom game you find from now on. 31 in 1 is one of the better multi-carts. There is a game on there called Battle City which was never released on the NES in North America and its very fun, especially in 2 player mode. Al |

I believe I had a 31 in 1: it had a funny menu of a hacked FDS startup screen.
The converter is probably worth at least $10 depending on what kind it is. |

I'm going to pass on it. The only reason I would have bought it, was to trade it and unless anyone wants it (which it doesn't seem like) it's useless to me.
Thanks for the help :D |

What kind of converter is it? Can you get a pic? If so, I might be interested. If it's a converter I haven't seen, I'll buy it.

I do have a picture. I'm not sure how to add it to the thread. I can e-mail it if you'd like.

Here is an image of the 31-in-1 that i won on ebay a while ago (with the blue ribbon): http://img241.imageshack.us/img241/4065/29578269o1il3.jpg
If i had to choose only ONE game to keep for my NES it would be the 31 in 1. Yes its a pirate cartridge but it is just so nice! You got the neat menu when you start the game and you have lots of favorite games, such as; Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros, Ice Climber, Ballonfight, Excitebike etc. And its great to just leave this cartridge in your nes and just press the reset button when you want to play another game. Well now we have the PowerPak, its probably a better choice, but if you can get the 31 in 1 for a good price, get it! |

Battle City is on there as well. A very fun game for both single and 2 player.
