Title: Sunsoft's Perfect Guide Book for Fester's Quest
Post by albailey on 01. Aug 2007 at 04:40
Sunsoft's Perfect Guide Book for Fester's Quest.
I had this folded inside a boxed copy of  Fester's Quest.  It looks like you actually had to buy it.
Anyways, I scanned it so people can take a look. There's 8 pics.

If someone is interested enough to capture or host this, go ahead as I tend to clean up my photobucket stuff regularly.

On an unrelated topic I have no idea how to scan that piracy document I won on ebay a while back. My problem with that is that its permanently bound (Gestetner hot binding) so I dont know how to scan it without ruining the binding or taking lousy scans.

Wow, that book is pretty sweet.  That would have saved me a lot of time back in the day.

I would guess you had to buy it from Sunsoft.  I'd like to know what other titles exist.

I've got a copy of Sunsoft Game Time News, (Fall 1989) which was their newsletter.  I could always scan that in a well.

I'm guessing thats where the ability to order those guides came from.  In the newsletter I have,  you could order T-shirts (Blaster Master, Spy Hunter, platoon or Fester's Quest) and elsewhere you could win a Xenophobe T-shirt.  Maybe other newsletters had a chance to order guides.

Hi all, I remember it given out when I bought the game for my oldest son summer of 1990. It may have been part of a display. Fred Meyer in North Seattle. Thanks for posting! it was lost years ago. Festers Quest was one of my favorite games.

And here I was planning on cleaning out my photobucket images.  Glad I left that in.

Martin, you are more than welcome to host or archive those images.

PS: I love that Rocket Games/Datel article.   I've got 1 UK Rocket Game, and I think 6 of the US releases.

6 of the US Rocket Games releases?

Yes.
I suppose its only 5, although  the 2 in 1 is in an oversize package:

I've got:
ATV Racing
Karate Joe
Painter
Pocket Smash Out / Race Time (2 in 1)
Space Invasion

Missing: ATV/Rocket Joe (2 in 1)

I have the UK release:
Space Invasion/Karate Joe (2 in 1, but in a normal size box)

are the US releases identical to the Euro ones? or different box designs and such?

I am pretty sure that the UK one has British currency indicated on the packaging, while the US ones do not.

This link points to the auction.  The seller had at least 3 sets, since I was 3rd place in the auction, and I know the second place winner as well, and we both were able to pick up a set from him.

I do not believe the cart is any different.

Well mine's the UK ones, bought directly from Datel back in the day, and they haven't got any pricetag on the boxes.
