i was wondering if there was a list somewhere, or if someone knew, the launch titles for the nes in the states? i wanted to sort them out and put them in their own cabinet away from the rest of my collection.

I stumbled across a list on Wikipedia the other day. I don't remember what the page was about but I know it is there somewhere. Try just searching for "Launch Titles" on wikipedia. It may or may not be accurate since it is wikipedia, but it is a start.

Its about halfway down the page. 18 titles: 10-Yard Fight, Baseball, Clu Clu Land, Donkey Kong Jr. Math, Duck Hunt, Excitebike, Golf, Gyromite, Hogan's Alley, Ice Climber, Kung Fu, Mach Rider, Pinball, Stack-Up, Super Mario Bros., Tennis, Wild Gunman, and Wrecking Crew.

I scanned in a Nintendo Power "Pak Source" from 1991 which lists the launch dates of all the NES titles. Note that not all the dates are correct, since they dont even match up with the dates from other docs I've looked at.

Launch titles have Oct 1985 as the date.

Anyways here are the Black Box dates:

Oct 1985:
Baseball
Clu Clu Land
Duck Hunt
Excitebike
Golf
Gyromite
Hogans Alley
Ice Climber
Kung Fu
Mach Rider
PInball
Stackup
Super Mario Bros
10 yard fight
Tennis
Wild Gunman
Wrecking Crew

It lists June 1986 for:
Balloon Fight
Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong Jr
Donkey Kong 3
Donkey Kong Jr Math
Gumshoe
Mario Bros
Popeye
Urban Champion

Mar 1987:

Soccer
Volleyball

just wanted to put them in a separate storage case. i guess its kind of weird, but meh, what can ya do?

Yeah you can just go to Nintendo.com they have a Master List of NES, SNES, N64 pretty much any system. Of coarse this wont have the unlicensed Tengen games. Hope this helps :)
