Wondered if someone knows more about this? Are there different testcarts known, like we have for the NES? I have one but it would be cool to own more if there are any.

yep.  The NTF2 System carts are all fami sized.  There is a black and white cart versions.

I've seen at least two, one for testing the Famicom and one for testing the controller.

Ok this is the one i have, wonder what it exactly does. Don't have a famicom, might try it on my NES. ;D

That's a controller test cart, and I'm pretty sure it's intended for Controller II which has the microphone feature. Those mics, if slightly abused, seem to cause problems with the Famicom's sound.
