Title: Your experience with PowerPak
Post by piteta on 15. Nov 2007 at 17:13
Hi, it's been a while since last time i posted here, but that's what it has when one starts to be tired of collecting... Well, recently i've realized that the doubles i use from time to time for playing on my old nes are taking to much room from my room and that if i bought a powerpak i would save a lot of room.... so now i'm thinking of selling my doubles and with the money i get from the sale i'll buy a powerpak, but before i do it i want to hear what's your experience with it when using it because in Spain no one can tell me because, as far as i know, there's only one person who owes it and i can't ask him because he has banned himself recently from the forum where he told he had one...

I think the power pak is great.  I haven't used mine all that much but from what I have used of it it does a really good job.  It does have a few minor glitches sometimes but not enough to make a difference really.  It is a very cheap and cool alternative for spending thousands of dollars on a full set. (but what fun is that)

Thanks for your reply NGD :) Btw, i've a pal system so i guess i'll have those glitches too. could any one tell me known games wich have those glitches?

p.d in my case, the powerpak will make me save money from doubles i buy for playing, not from spending the money on the carts i'm lookin for xD

I'm extremely pleased with the PowerPak, Version 1 has a serious graphic glitch on some NES systems, but it was fixed in version 2 and a fix was offered to version 1 customers.

It's only a handful of official NES games that doesn't run and some problems are most definately caused by bad rom dumps. It doesn't run Castlevania 3 yet, so save your spare cart ;)

All in all, I'll highly recommend the PowerPak, just think about having every NES game released on one little cartridge :)

Does anyone know how to write mapper support files? And who is currently trying to get MMC5 working?
