I realized today that Castlevania is the only game I have that has 5 screws. Is it a rare variant, or are all Castlevanias this way?

Just the early versions of the game came with 5 screws (aka SMB, Duck Hunt, Excitebike, Pinball...) Castlevania in 5 screw is pretty uncommon and not super easy to find but not impossible either. Value wise it isn't worth much if any more than a 3 screw version cause most people don't care and don't mess with variants.

I got that one. Even the label differs from the version with 3 screws. If you take a look at the top of the cart you see an example, which is that the title is placed on the edge while the other one is place only at the top on the label.

castlevania 5 screw is very rare. I have one and i vaule 5 screw games, and castlevania is one of the rarest besides 5 screw zelda. your very lucky to own one of the few oringinals in game history.
