Title: Games that Came with Maps? Post by Skipper_Lucky11 on 16. Jan 2008 at 03:36
Since I collect complete NES games I just noticed that Metal Gear comes with a map I didn't know this luckly I did not get that game complete yet. Does anybody have a list of every game that came with a Map I know Zelda and River City Ransom came with maps. But does anybody know any other games?

Damn dude, given Faria's value and the fact that the map must be far more scarce, what does that go for when one pops up?

It was a mail away map and rarely pops up. I only need 2 maps and that is one of them. The next one is mine :D

I think Ultima VI on the SNES had a mail only map, too, but the funny thing is, if you bought Ultima VII later, the map that came with it could be used for VI. They take place in the same game world and almost everything is located in the same places.

Thanks NGD. Seeing what games had maps it makes me scratch my head wondering why the hell Metroid didn’t have a map. I was thinking of making one on Paint Shop Pro or something. Maybe I will. Have never played through the game even into about 30 minutes as I never really had the time. But maybe I will do that now. Would anybody be interested in that me and my bro can make some pretty pro looking things on PSP. :)

Metroid has a very nice fold out map in a issue of Nintendo Power, I don't think I would waste the time an effort to make another one ;) In fact lots of other games have fold out maps in Nintendo Power.

I would call that a poster more than a map. I guess it could be both cause it is a pic of the game board.

Yeah, it kind of is a crossover...I mean, when I get lost while playing Monopoly I totally look at the map for reference. :-p

I see you stole my map list NGD :).
Dunno how detailed you are looking to get but that list should be all the maps. Note that there are two maps/charts for some games like Final Fantasy, DW IV etc. There is also a mail in map for DW II in addition to the map that came with the game. After that there are other random items like the forementioned monopoly board, the letter from mike tyson, the bulletin board from Maniac Mansion. From there you can keep digging for inserts like 3D glasses to the troll that came with Trolls on Treasure Island. This list goes on and on, but I promiss you....there is actually an end to it. Note, if you are a completest here is an easy reference tool. If you have a random poster or item, Look in the bottom right hand corner. There should be a code like CAP-AU-NES something along those lines. If the poster is a generic insert, it will have a generic code. If it has a specific code, the code will match the code on the inner flaps of the game box that it goes with. Hope some of this rambling helps. Bryan |

yeah I saw that one it looked great <fart noise> ;D naw the one I could make would look really slick. And very easy to read with a lot more detail to items etc.. in the game I may do this for some other games as well such as Zelda. |

Hmm, value on a faria map would be a tough one to gauge. Last CIB w/ map brought $120ish....I think the CIB has been in the $50 range if listed properly and in good shape so that would put the map at around $70. Mostly it would all boil down to how many people wanted it and how badly they wanted to end their search. I could see a map only on ebay bring $20 or break $100 and anywhere in between. Bryan |

Another thing to note on the faria map. My CIB w/ map all came from the original owner soooo.....my manual is missing the back cover as that is what you had to mail in for the map. I've never really decided if I like it that way or if I will someday break down and buy a manual that isn't missing the back cover.
