Title: Australian AC Adaptor for NES and SNES
Post by Psytronic on 09. Feb 2008 at 15:25
Okay guys, so do you know anywhere that's selling new AC Adaptors for the NES?  In Australian power format?  I moved to Perth, WA from the US awhile back, and I really need my own AC adaptor.  I've been using a borrowed one, but I can't keep it forever.

I'd really like a brand-spanking-new adaptor, although a place that sells them used would be tolerable.  I might have to buy a PAL deck just to get the adaptor, if no one here can help.

Maybe you should consider getting a European one and just buy a plug adapter to use it in Australia.

I think Australian power is typically about 10 to 20 volts stronger than European, so I'm not sure that's a good long-term solution.  Thanks for the idea, though.  I'm thinking I can just get a step-down transformer, rather than bother buying a PAL AUS system.  It'd be better for general use.

I don't think it will make a difference. I used to live in the UK and all the stuff that I brought from France worked flawlessly whereas the voltage in the UK is 20 volts stronger (220V in in France and 240V in the UK).
But a stepdown converter could be quite useful if you have some devices from the US! ;)
