Title: game genie adapter for top-loading nes? Post by weaponjae on 11. Jul 2008 at 17:14
i know that galoob was making these thousands of years ago but i never hear of anyone that actually got one. i e-mailed them a long time ago to see if they still had them (this was in the mid-to-late 90s, so they plausibly could have had them at the time) and they said they had stopped producing them. does anyone have any information on them?

They're out there, but they're just tough to find as they were obviously mail-order only. You can search google and I'm sure you'll stumble upon a picture of one. They look similar in size to a Famicom-to-NES converter and come in a plain white cardboard box with instruction sheet. Going rate for them on eBay seems to be around $75, maybe even a bit more now.

i can't remember: was it a physical design that made it so the game genie wouldn't work with the top loaders or was it a software/hardware design? if its the former, then anyone know a way to just make an adapter?

I believe all the add-on was, was being an extention of the slot as the plastic around the original Gamegenie wouldn't fit... I could be wrong though and I don't own a toploader

I have one of these complete in the box. Just a little white box with the paperwork and equipment. All there is. They aren't cheap and are pretty tough to find. I would say if you ask around enough you can get one for around $125-150.
If I knew how to post pics on here I could show you a pic of mine CIB. Otherwise if you want it bad enough I can email you a pic. ~E~ |

Anyone remember the story about how a guy bought a ton of these at a thrift store, sold a few and then returned the rest because he didn't feel like holding onto them?

Oh crap not Seth invading Denmark... I mean Nes World now. I think you might get away with "your" kind of pics here more than you do on NA Seth being as there is porn on TV in Denmark at night, not just R rated movies like in USA.
