I just thought it would be interesting to see what people think of the Angry Video Game Nerd (formerly Angry Nintendo Nerd) and his reviews?

I do seem to remember people talking about him before on the forum, but not in a specific thread, and I have a feeling that opinions could be pretty split in the gaming community!

So I've created this little poll, click away and please comment with reasons for your choice!  :) Interested to see what the results will be!

Ok, I've started off with the first vote. I have (I'm sure completely in opposition to many others, so putting myself in the firing line here!) said that I love his reviews on the whole.

Sure, his opinions are a little extreme on some of the games he reviews, and I don't always agree with his opinions, BUT I don't take them too seriously as I'm sure some people do. I find them entertaining as they are usually very well made - the Nightmare on Elm Street and Halloween ones, as well as the Texas Chainsaw Massacre one being the best examples I can think of. And I did laugh hard at the Bugs Bunny's Birthday Blowout video.

I've watched some of his non video game videos, and I genuinely believe that the guy is talented.

So that's my tuppence worth!

If only he hadn't sold out and joined ScrewAttack I would be okay with his stupid videos :-)

But when he joined ScrewAttack something just went terribly wrong, can't put my finger on what it is... but he's just not the same...

(ScrewAttack is a waste of good bandwidth in my oppinion)

if anyone takes them to offence or doesnt like how "harsh" they can be i say lighten up, they aren't supposed to be a real review just a bit of a laugh about games that he and i suppose his audience grew up with.

He's, well, just okay.  He gives a decent amount of information to people who don't know much about retro gaming, but then again he's been pretty misinformed and such at times when it was quite easy to find even basic information on the internet in a second.  The people I really, really don't like are the ones that post responses under his video.  Almost as annoying as the stupidity you see posted on Youtube all the time.  It drives me insane.

But he isn't misinformed. He's doing them as comedy video's not to be taken as serious reviews. I bought the DVD a few months back and he does a sort of making of explaining why he created the show etc He actualy likes Castlevania 2 for example but went all out on it in the review as a joke.

You should. Some of his stuff is pretty funny.

I don't like him, he has the most irritating voice i ever heard. I can't listen to it, what a thingy.

I met him earlier this year at a game expo and he seemed to be a very nice guy.
