Ok so here is the great debate.....

I clearly recall playing the first Goonies with the Cyndi Lauper song it on my NES not a Famicom system back in my youth.. But now while trying to find that game I keep being told it wasn't made for NES now here is my question, AM I CRAZY?

Is it possible that the re-release of the original Goonies game NOT GOONIES 2 (in 1988) worked on regular NES?

Does anyone know where I can find a copy or would it be best to get a retro duo and buy an old 16bit famicom cart. and use it with that?

I've already started to buy a 60-72 pin converter and the old famicom game for the famicom system is there a better option?

Finally can it be found in one of those bundle cart? If so which one?

Goonies I was a famicom release and was never made for the NES.  You can get a repro of it for 27.50 at gamereproductions.com though.

It's possible you played it on an NES multicart. I'm not too familiar with NEs multis, but there had to be a few with The Goonies on it. Certainly you can find it for Famicom and on tons of Famicom multis.

True guys, it was only released on NES pirate multicarts. They hardly pop up on those carts, i've only see a few in years time. I happen to own a 52-1 pirate multi with Goonies 1 on it.

Definitely, you played it on a pirate.  That was my first exposure to the Goonies and any Famicom games for that matter.  My father's friend brought us a pirate cartridge from Vietnam and The Goonies was on it along with classics like Sky Destroyer and such.

It's not just on Pirate Multi-Carts.  I have Goonies for NES Complete in Box in mint shape and it's a single HKGC game with matching Box and poster etc.
