Here's a preview of what the unreleased games list is going to look like, this definately isn't the final design though I just stole the layout from another list displayed here :-)

Some of the games mentioned probably aren't unreleased but simply changed its name for the release, such a Xena maybe? There's more data in the database than what is shown, but again this is just a quick display of what's included in the list.

Holy mac, that's one long list. I knew it had some unreleased but this list is long!

Before i give some comments,i want to say this...

Yes its a big list BUT.. ...

-Some games where released but not for the n64 ( nightmare creatures 2,sydney 2000 and looney tunes : space race where released for the DC/ps1 but got canned for the n64.) Most likely because the high price of making the game on a n64 cart :'(

- some games got transfered to other systems (eternal darkness,kameo,resident evil 0,dinosour planet.

-JAP/Europe and USA : A lot games got released in the USA but canned for Europe (especially at the end of the n64 life time)
Taz express is the other way around ;)

-Cancelled games -demo and rumered games
Some games got cancelled after some time(screen shots are there)
Some where only in demo form other just a rumor.

- Not all games for the n64 where cancelled at the end of the n64 lifetime. (wich is almost always the case with canned games.)
Some got canned at the beginning  (they went to ps1) and some just got canned along the way.



Comments /tips for the list

- 40 winks is also know under other names! In dutch/german : Ruff en Tumble : de droomkrijgers              
It even got reviewed in a dutch n64 magazine,a prototype excists

-Battlezone :rise of the black dogs : this game was  released in the USA. The Pal version is still surrounded by mystery.
Was it released (PAL)?? some people say NO,others say its the rarest pal n64 game along with snowboardkids 2 and got a really ,really,REALLY small numbers release :-?
I did some digging and can't find evidence its released as pal. But i wouldn't be suprised if the pal game popped up.

-This brings us to indiana jones and the infernal machine. (PAL)
The same story as battlezone,maybe even more famous on the internet . Its released PAL yes ,no,yes,no,yes,no,yes

This game didn't got released as a pal game! A pal prototype does excists (germany)
It was a really,REALLY close call ,but the pal version didn't make it.
Am i sure? yes i am.
I contacted lucas arts,nintendo,game mags and toy/game companies.
The game didn't make it as a pal version!! I REPEAT: indiana jones is not pal.

Yes i know it got reviewed(dutch,german,french English magzines),the release date was set,stores had it in pre-order.
Commercials in magazines and box art is there but no game :'(

True it was a real late release 2001 ::)
I don't know what lucas arts was doing people but the canned it at the very last second. (i have never seen such a late canned game :o) They must have gotten a award for it (latest canned game in gamming history)  :-?Rumor has it that the game got canned because the factory got destroyed by a fire :-?

- Im missing FINAL FANTASY 6 on the list it was in production but square :'( went to playstation and it got canned and rebuild for the ps1.
disc where cheaper to work with and could handle more data

- I also got ROBOTEK on my list,real early game i think it got completly changed too robotech: crystal dreams also from gametek

-Ever heard of ACE DRIVER? Its a arcade driver that Namco wanted to port too the n64 but never made it far in production

- RIQA on your list (man i wanted too see this game) was in development by bit studios and i think earthbound and mother3 are the same ;)

If I remember correctly Lucas Arts also canned Indiana Jones in the US, but then changed their mind and offered the game from their webshop for a very limited time and then making it rental only....

As did Midway with Stunt Racer 64, originally canned but then it turned rental only... Good luck getting one of these babies CIB :-)

Final Fantasy never existed for the N64 and was never planned, the characters however were used in a tech demo and people thought it was an early attempt at Final Fantasy... sadly no

1. blockbuster video is the company that started to rent n64 games and yes they only had indiana jones for the n64.
They also had a special n64 blitz (american football game) only for rent at there store.

Im pal minded when it comes to n64..BUT i have 1 N64 ntsc game in my collection,the most rare n64 game clayfighters: sculptor's cut

Also a blockbuster only,as you can see a real used rental copy

checked my list,and you sure did your homework

- final fantasy 6 (demo) you can put question marks on other games?! to creator was a dinosour demo only?
-ace driver - from namco (google,it was a coin up that was going to bee ported?
-blastdozer- became blast corps (released)
-kirby bowl 64 - hal labority -bowling with kirby as ball
The first and only playable game for the ultra 64 (as it was named back then)at the E3 ,it was 20% complete nintendo told back then,first playable but never released :-?
And there where a lot of demo's there at the E3 of sharks,space shuttle etc.
Many of the early cancelled games where demo's???

Oh maybe robotek became robotech: crystal dreams? a picture

Hmm, read a interview with a employe of rare about blast dozer.
The guy told that the name was changed here because of legal issues.
Something like starfox-starwing.

The name of the game was changed 7 times!
But most games change  name because the have 'project names' first.

Actually you may be right about Robotek being the original title for Robotech... I found the resume for one of the artists working on the game back in the days and he also describes it at Robotek

I got the robotek story out of a U.K. nintendo magazine in 1996 long before the launch of the system they had a special item over the game and the new upcoming nintendo console.

Here are some games that where mentioned 1 time in a magazine or old rumor titles.(and not on your list) ;)

-dead or alive
-area 51 (the shooting game)
-maximum force (atari)
-hellracer (racing game from virgin)
-gradius
-resident evil
-lets smash
-detective 64 (board game for n64 looks like cluedo) screen shot
-space invaders (3d remake)

you can't do much with them though there mostly rumor stuff ,but who knows maybe you can find more info.

a few helpful (hopefuly) comments on the list

- cu-on-pa GOT RELEASED ,the problem is... it got released on the snes :-?   Can you believe that?
I didn't at first but... its true, the game was made for the n64 and then they pulled it back and released it on the snes.
Talk about strange ::)(but maybe you kept it on your list because eternal darkness got released also only later instaed of a step back.

-I think xena is just a working title that got changed

-i also think,but im not sure that shadowgate rising also is a working title.
In fact i thought  shadowgate rise of the 4 towers was the full title

-xmen also changed name and got a release later for ps1 only.

Lets Smash Tennis was released in Japan and Space Invaders was definately not cancelled as IGN states... it was released at least in the US.

i have one indiana jones CIB. only is missing the registration card ... i tried to collect the rarest US cart CIB but i'm kinda disapointed cause the carton box are more fragile than the PAL one. i think i will concentrate my self on PAL from now one.

do you have anything for trade ? here's what i got :
harvest moon 64
indy
and ogre battle 64

all CIB. i was looking for some PAL rarities ...

I have been buying US games myself, but recently switched back to PAL. I don't have any extras though - I try not to buy the same game twice :-P
