Hey dudes!!

I went to a flee market where somebody had a NES with 2 controllers, a Game Genie and some games (A pirate SUPER 700-IN-1, Mario 1 + Duckhunt and a Track and Field 2 cart.
On the Game Genie device there there was a loose PCB.
I asked what it was and  the guy said he didn't know.
I asked what the full set would cost , and the full set was 25 euro's.

So I bought the thing and when I got home I couldn't wait to play the unit :)
I played Mario for a while. tried the 700-in-1 cartridge (contains a sh*t load of double games) and after that I tried the loose pcb.
Grey screen....hmmz :(
Cleaned the contacts and tried again...BINGO!!
DOUBLE DRAGON !! :)
But when I start the game I notice something....there is no intro where the girl of the game gets a punch in the stomach and when Mission 1 starts I see  "free play" in place where "P-x" (x is the amount of lives you have left).

That's odd, could this be a hack placed on a board ?

It could be a hacked rom file. It is standard practice to get rid of intro screens that delay game play. i would hold on to it don't get rid of it you never know. I know i saw a few games like this were intro screens are removed. Proto type games usually will not look like the finish product at all sometimes. and intro screen is the only thing missing then probably not a proto. I beleive you have a intro screen removal hack. Try going to http://nesdev.parodius.com/ and posting there there a guy by the name Loopy who knows a lot about NES.

Might be a proto but sounds like a pirate, pics are needed. :)
