So here's the deal. I only have 1 controller for my NES. I'm working on getting a second. But since I have a 30 day warranty on my system I want to make sure it everything works before the warranty expires. So I loaded up a 2 player game, and unplugged from the 1st player slot and plugged the controller into the 2 player slot. The weird thing is all the buttons work BUT the Select and Start button.

I can use the select and start button on the 2 player controller in the main menu to select if I want a 1 or 2 player game but once the game starts I can't. I don' know if this is normal or not.

So if someone here owns a Orignal NES. Could you try this for me.

1. Start a 2 player game.

2. unplug controller from 1st and put in 2nd.

3. Test the select and start button the 2 player controller(with nothing plugged into the first slot).

You can only use select and start when being player 1, not player 2.
