Title: 71 1/2 pin connector?
Post by ^_^ x kenshin-dono on 14. May 2010 at 21:57
so i went to put the new 72 pin connector onto the 2nd NES i was restoring (painted this one silver since it was yellowing) and i noticed something odd.. its a 71 1/2 pin connector. Theres a hole in teh lower left where the 72nd pin should be. The old one has 72 and the other replacement i did had 72 i believe (not taking it apart to double check but i dont remember there being a missing part like that)

i included a picture.. this is defiantly wrong, isn't it? i didn't even want to hook it up and test it

Interesting.

According to this pinout:
http://www.nesdev.com/NES_ADAPTER.txt

The 4 outside pins would be important.
1 for Power, 2 used for ground, and 1 for clock.

Pretty unusual to see it broken or mis-manufactured that way.
