So I disabled the lockout chip last night, tested it with a few games and it worked fine but now when I insert a game it won't work and I have to wiggle the game around and pull it back slightly to make it work and that's if I'm lucky, before I disabled the chip it worked perfectly.

Anyone know what I can try to fix it?

Try reseating everything inside.  Could be something not slid down completely around the adaptor edge.
