I get the impression that this forum was once thriving and very active. I also get the impression now that its dead... or at least on life-support. I really want to get involved, but I haven't even seen a moderator or administrator post since I've been here... Granted, it hasn't been long, but still... So is this forum normally this dead? Or is it just going through a slump?

I just recently revisited this board after a long absence...and I regretfully agree with you. I could speculate as to the reasons why the frequency of posts is down, but I'm sure everyone would come up with the exactly same reasons.

But what I would like to do is take a moment to thank Martin for keeping this place going after so many years. I signed up here 10 freaking years ago, and I think I lurked even before that. More importantly, everyone who has ever been here knows that this is and has always been the preeminent place to discuss NES collecting.

NES collecting isn't dead -- now where is everyone?

I entirely agree, this website is a haven for people interested in the NES and die-hards alike. It's a flood of information; so I thought the boards would be a flood of people (well, more like at least 25 - 50 active members).

Like you, I lurked around here for two years, and finally decided to look at the forum, and consequently, joined.

As I stated earlier, I really hope this is some unplanned hiatus because I'd really like to be involved with the community.

The forum activitity hit an all time low a few years back and never recovered. Stuff kinda happened over night and If only I knew what I did wrong around here, I could've at least have made an attempt to fix it.

I know a lot of members moved on to nintendoage.com while others just dissapeared.

Fact is that there isn't a need for several NES forums and NintendoAge have succeeded in making a quite active/attractive forum/community which kinda killed everything else.

So if you want some NES action, you may want to head on over there, but I hope you'll stop by here every now and then... who knows, maybe NW can return to its former glory sometime in the future? :-)

I've joined NintendoAge, but I just didn't like it as much. This website just seems... I dunno, better. More friendly, I guess.
