I was the first one to see it. I was "tied" for the first comment and I'm the first to put this specific gameplay on YouTube. I'm not normally a "first"-narb, but I couldn't resist bragging on myself.  :D

I played the game on "Easy". Beat it no problem; no deaths. I got hit twice and didn't die - you have HP now! (Which I think is a major improvement). Here is my footage:

So yeah, those are videos of everything the released Battle Kid 2 demo has to offer. Not much, but it's plenty fun.  :D It's not hard at all. I beat the "Easy" mode on my first try, and since I knew what to expect, I beat the "Normal" mode on my first try, too. ... The Game Engine one was edited, hence the quotes. I'm a sneaky one.  :twisted:

In case you don't know what Battle Kid is, Battle Kid is a "I Wanna Be The Guy"/Masocore game developed by Sivak Games on original hardware playable on the Nintendo Entertainment System. It is the most successful homebrew to date and the first full game (worth mentioning - most homebrews and pirates suck) on the NES since Wario's Woods. You can go to RetroUSB.com to buy the original and other retro goods.

pretty bad ass, I've never completed the first game though...

I only have once... It's so hard and frustrating I don't find it worth playing over again.  :-?

Looks like a Megaman Clone in every aspect....Still it's neat.

Hope to see better enemy placement in the final version and maybe get rid of the megaman bleeps and blops. Cutscenes keep it fresh i guess...

Mega Man is easier than Battle Kid though :-)

Much, much easier. And it's more inspired by IWBTG than Mega Man.

You should. It's a solid and fun game. You can buy it at RetroZone/RetroUSB.com for $30, I believe.

Yay, masocore... Those games are ridiculous. Although... I don't think any will get more ridiculous than IWBTG. That's just insane.

As a real cheap/greedy Dutchman i got the rom of the net and played the full game on my powerpak. :P :P
