From what I've played,
I think "Super Mario Bros. 2" is the best NES game.

Only one? There are loads of great games on NES.

The strongest obsession with NES game I ever had was with Blaster Master, though.

Wizardry: Knight of Diamonds. I've played the crap out of it over the years, and can still pick it up and have a blast. Going to do a speed run of it on Monday for Twin Galaxies. Tried once a couple years ago, only to fall victim to a pack of Ferocious Fiends and Horrid Hounds around the 6 hour mark while levelling up. Since then I've developed a strategy that requires a far lower level (my last run I died with level 15 characters, since then I have beaten it with level 12 characters), so all I need is a bit of luck and I should have it in around 5 hours or so.

Super Mario Bros for me. I played the hell out of it. I never had a Zapper though so I never played Duck Hunt.

"BEST" like in best "gameplay" id have to give it to that pink blob "Kirby" simply because there is just so much you can do in that game. if i had to pick a "favorite" id say SMB1/2jp as their so similar i just consider jp2 as an add on to the first essentially making it all "one game".
