Hi all,

I figured this would be the best place to get help finding the title of an obscure game I played a long time ago when I was a kid.

I remember it being kind of like Xevious in that it was a scrolling shooter, but it differed in that once a scrolling shooter section was completed, the aerial vehicle would transform into a person (or maybe that’s just what my child mind thought was going on, maybe the pilot just exited the vehicle, lol) who would then find him/herself in an overworld area that the character would explore and fight enemies in with a pistol-like blaster.

Once the overworld area was explored and a new portal found, the character would jump in and complete yet another scrolling shooter level, etc. etc.

Any help with finding what game this is would be so very much appreciated. It was a game that myself and my mother kind of bonded over playing and the way she’s talkin lately, she doesn’t have much time left so if I could find this title and get a copy, it would mean a lot to us.
