I didnt see the point in scanning the back since 5 screw variations are visible from the front anyways. (I wasnt sure if you were serious or not)

The Unlicensed Tengen variations  on the other hand is a whole different story.

Thank you guys for maintaining the lists.

I was trying to make one myself using ebay photos and forum posts when I found this site. (mine was obviously less complete) Its very nice to see such a number of NES collectors and such an active forum.

If you really really wanna be picky. I just noticed for my Wrecking Crew that at the top of the game, (the top you would see when you insert the game into a toaster NES) the 5 screw version has a trademark sign next to Wrecking Crew and the 3 screw version does not.

Hey Petrosky,

I think we'll eventually start a thread dealing with the classics variations (the original Nintendo releases) -- I've got a pretty good start on a list dealing with those, but what I'm wanting to do is actually create a visual map of where on the cart each of those variations are, etc. There are SO many of them with the really common games like Golf (I think I have 9 or 10 variations of that game alone).

Hey man

Sounds good here. I'll look through more of mine. I think it's very fun looking for those little differences. I liked reading this thread.

Great work on all the info you gathered so far Dain.

I'll contribute as much as I can.

Stinger only came in 5 screws -- I think you meant 3 screw Stinger, which I've yet to ever see.

You're not the only one! The Star Force find was great, but I was of the opinion that it was out there; Stinger, on the other hand, is one of those games (like MUSCLE) that I tend to think only exists in 5 screw format. But, I'd LOVE to be wrong (and HOPE that I am)!

Maybe I missed something somewhere but are there are 5 screw Karnov's? would it's release date allow for one to be 5 screw?

I kinda doubt it, but it's possible -- it was released a month too late 01/1988, compared to what we know of games being released with 5 screws (12/1987). It seems that December 1987 is the latest for which we've been able to find 5 screw games (there was a rumor it existed, that "some guy I know has one" type thing, which I internally dismissed due to lack of proof). I'd still love to see one if it exists, but I won't hold my breath Smiley

I know what you mean. I remember my friend used to have it and then it got sold  Undecided  Makes me wonder if it was one....    I wish I never sold any of my games.

Thanks for the info Dain

I'll keep my eyes open. I'm still looking for a 3 screw Stinger

I found a 3 screw Gyromite. I ordereda lot of 22 Gyromite carts from Egay and one of them happened to be a 3 screw cart, and oddly enough the screws are not security screws. Since there being no game ID on the label I can't say for sure if it is an NTSC verson, hoping you could help with that, but these games came from a guy in NJ  so I'm pretty sure it is. The sticker on the back of the cart has a REV-A, the nintendo logo has a C and an M and 1985 and is centered on the sticker, and there is MADE IN JAPAN on the front label.

Board details:

C. 1986 Nintendo
NES-NROM-256-02

  Chip 1:
     HVC-GY-0  PRG
     RP23256D  0055
     7B4  B9

  Chip 2:
     HVC-GY-0  CHR
     RP2070  0037
     7A5  07

  Chip 3:
     3193A
     C. 1986 NINTNEDO
     8704  A

And no this label was definatly not peeled off and put on another 3 screw game.
