A quick rant about non-NES posts
29. Jul 2006 at 01:45

Not to be a jerk, post how you want, but a quick scan of this board shows posts for Gamecube, GameGear, PSX, DS, and Virtual-Boy, just to name some off the first page.  I come here for NES collecting, but for my general game needs, I like GameTZ and DigitPress, but I've noticed most people blanket all three when trying to unload a DreamCast package.  It's fine to trade other systems for NES games here, I've done it myself.  But sell that CD-i somewhere else, please!  I come here for one brand of nerdery, and I hate to see it diluted.

Thanks,
-Joe

I hear what you're saying, but I would rather deal with many of you rather than anywhere else.  When I'm dealing with non-nintendo stuff, I do it elsewhere.  I put my DS for sale here because I've had good DS conversations in the last few months in the general topic.  Someone brought up something in the game finds that led me to selling them a snes game.

People are not just posting non-nes stuff there, but also posting wtb: non-nes stuff.  That shows me that people aren't just pushing their non-nes stuff on uninterested parties.

No offence to you or your desire: until I'm told it's not kosher, I'll keep selling stuff in the sale catagory.  I do think it would be nice to have two catagories:  "nes" and "everything not good enough to be in the nes catagory".  Cheesy

Uhh...who cares? As long as it's sold, in my opinion. Besides, it's not like this forum has one board called "NES DISCUSSION ONLY OR ELSE UR BANNED"...

Lol! As long as the NES discussion board is kept to NES I don't see it as too much of a problem! The vast majority of postings in even all the other threads is about NES too. If you look on each of the discussion threads there are maybe two or three about other systems - though some of them are relating them to a NES subject - and the rest are still about the NES. I'm a member on quite a few other Gaming boards - a direct comparison being sega8bit (for the sms), and it's the same on every board I'm a member of ie the vast majority of posts are about the system in question but a few are not. I've never had a problem with it coz most collectors have at least a vague interest in more than one system - and I don't think they should be persecuted for that! Just as long as most of it is to the point.  Smiley
