Just out of curiousity, when you sold the original to the guy, did u tell him it was undumped, super rare and all that? If so, it would never sell these repros, wouldnt be the right thing to do. Then its not really "one of a kind". You did write mega rare on Ebay so you did technicaly told him.

We are talking like $1000 value here. I would feel very tricked if i found out the seller had 3 repros of it and tried to sell/trade them later. As you also point out, the repro looks just like the original. It could be used for scams, like saying its the real deal etc.

Adol (french collector) sold his unreleased Sega CD game to some people. He even wrote a contract that it was the only copy he had, no backups.

We never discussed anything of that sort. I figured when i was the owner of it i had the right to get it dumped..

I agree completely.  Most of the value of that cart was in the fact that is was a one of a kind.  By dumping it and reproducing it you significantly reduce the value of the origional.  If I had purchased it and paid that kind of price for it I would be seriously pissed.

Of course I'm not the buyer so my opinion doesnt really matter here.  If whoever bought the cart isnt upset than I guess you can do as you please.  (seems pretty shady though)

Ok, but then its not quite right to use this phrase, as you did in your auction:

"This is the only one I know of.."

This is basicly saying "one of a kind". If you have 3 repros its far from one of a kind. Its like a painter selling 1 photo for 10 million claiming it is the only one, then paint 5 more. Its not exactly the same, but the principle is, the first painting would not longer be unique.

As said, i would feel very tricked if i found out the seller had more copies after writing "This is the only one I know of..". I would maybe keep one repro for my own use, but never sell them. Atleast not only a few weeks after the original sales.

Im just stating my opinion. What you want to do is completely up to you of course.

I'd say you did the right thing Smiley

Just for the record, the contract Adol made was under alittle different circumstances. The buyers are going to develope the game so its finished and sell it. Thats why the contract was written, to protect them. So you will see a "new" Sega CD game soon Wink
