Genuine Question

Ok, I have to ask this. What the hell do some of you guys do that you can afford to spend such huge amounts on such a regular basis on NES stuff? Some of the prices stuff goes for on so many games, accessories and rare items is not exactly cheap, and yet some of you guys just spend it! I'd love to spend as much, but I simply couldn't afford to!

LOL! Makes sense I suppose, but I work hard, and still couldn't possibly afford to spend the kind of money some of the guys do.

This hobby is cheap compared to some others !!! My other hobby is modding / racing my mustang, now that gets real expensive ! I have $17000 invested so far and I am just begining. Some of my friends are well over $100,000 and they are not "rich" by any means. If its something you enjoy you just have to budget and work for it.

I love collecting NES games but I also have to spend money on my car (trying to save for a new one. Plus playing around with the ladies adds up too.

I stopped buying a lot of stuff recently because I didn't have a job.  I just got a job now, so I'll be buying more stuff.  I also tend to purchase items in lots and resell the duplicates, to help fund my collection.

RE: The modding mustangs. I'm sorry, but you can't possibly afford to invest over $100K in a car unless you are extremely well off! lol! Unless you have several loans to cover it! NOBODY has a spare £100K lying around unless they are 'rich' as such to spend in one go. Even if that investment was over a five year period, it's still nearly $2000 a month EVERY month that whole time! You could only 'budget' that amount of money as spare if you're earning a minimum of $5000 a month ($60k a year), that's well off in my book! lol. And if that aint well off in your book - well you must have even more than that!!! Any jobs going? I fancy a move to the states!  Cheesy

i have almost 700 games and really havent spent that much money, probably more on gas driving to the flea market.  i buy and sell stuff and put some of the profit in the bank and some i use to buy stuff on ebay.  but i havent bought anything over 30 bucks...yet.  i am not sure what i am gonna do when i want the rare expensive games, well see i guess.

Yeah, I haven't spent any more than £15 on any one game yet (around $25), and I don't intend to until I've exhausted all the games I can get in that price range! Then I dunno what I'll do, save up for the more expensive one I guess!
