Rare NES Carts.

Hello everyone.

My name is Chris from Canada and I am a first time poster., I've been a big fan of this website for a while and decided to contribute a couple interesting NES Carts I've had for a while.

The first cart has never been played by myself, it does not seem to work in any of my NES consoles possibly making it PAL. I aquired it from a friend of mine who inherted it along with a lot of other NES stuff from his Uncle. As you can see from the label, there is a contra theme as well as an Adventure Island / StarTropics Island in the Background which makes me guess it contains multiple games such as the 100 in 1 carts. There are no other markings, letterings, or additional numbers visible, this cart has had me puzzled since I got it.

...

The next and last game is another Pirated Cart, There is no label and it does not seem to have ever had one. The surface is very smooth and does not have any sticky residue such as a label that was ripped off. It also does not contain any numbers or codes, just the Nintendo PAT.PEND. Made In Japan in the bottom rectangle found at the bottom behind every NES Cart, this game however does work. There is an Adventure Island theme to this cart, the intro music is playing in the background as well as Level 1 visuals on the main screen. This is a 260 in 1 cart and you can see all the playable games in the last image.

...

...

If anyone has any information on these 2 games I would really appreciate it, if not than it's perfectly fine, the main idea of this thread was to share my rare games.

Take it easy.

Chris C.

Both are pirates for sure Smiley The first probly contain as you said multiply games, or just contra, possibly with a build in level/weapon selector.

The 2nd game with 260-in-1 is fairly known and "common". I have it myself and i've heard of others that also have it. Its one of the best multicarts i know, i counted about 106 different games on it, that is alot! I dont know why it is in a retail NES cartridge, maybe someone just switched it.

Thanks for the information, I really wish I could get the contra cart to work.

Perhaps I would have more luck with the NES top loading consoles that play both US and PAL, I've been looking to pick up one of those for a while now.

A top loader can handle more dirty games since the connector is better. Have you tried cleaning the contacts btw?

Yeah the 260-in-1 I have but in a famicom cart. They probably just swiped an fami->nes converter off an old game, stuck the pirate cart in and sealed it up in an NES cart. Its good, the best pirate multi I've seen.

I've tried everything to try and get it working, from cleaning to testing it out on multiple NES console decks. This is why I am pretty positive that it's PAL, nothing can get this cart to fire up and relieve my curiousity.

Does the game start at all? If you only get a grey screen the game is either dirty or broken. If its another region you would get picture, but the game would just restart itself every second.

I don't get any images at all, just the classic NES blinking / single colored screen.

You never know, the cart might still be dirty even though I have tried cleaning it numerous times, or worst case scenario, it's broken Cry

Some games are incredible dirty, not even rubbing alcohol is enough. I've had a few games where i had to use sandpaper to grind the dirt away. Worked fine after that Smiley

Yesterday I opened up the cart, gave the game a very thorough cleaning and I still get a grey blinking screen.

I don't know what to do anymore, I've cleaned it numerous times and still come up short.

I'm pretty sure we don't know eachother.

The wizard in my signatures comes from the one Nintendo based movie I'm sure we all know titled "The Wizard."

It might be broken then Sad Dont have so much experience with it, but if you get your hands on a toploader and it still doesnt work its most likely defect.
