My game was stolen
01. Sep 2006 at 15:28

Today i recived a thin envelope from France. Im waiting for a few games from there so i had no idea what it could be since it was so flat. I opened it and what do i find.. a note saying:

"Hello, thanks for your game ha ha ha!!! One that works at the post office"

Man.. i was so pissed! crappity smacking crappity smack! If only the game was missing it would be "ok" but when the crappity smacker is so crappity smacking rude and replace the game with a note i get incredible mad! I seriously wish i knew who it was so i could get the crappity smacker to lose his job and get a bad reference.

So many people who works at the sorting center so its impossible to find out who did it. Might be the mailman for all i know, but i doubt that. Ive recived probly 1000 packages and this is the first time i've experienced or even heard of something like this. I will for sure report it to the postal service. Thought of police too, but i hardly doubt they will do anything about this.
The game was Mike Tyson Punch-Out smallbox release. Loose only, but this game isnt that easy to find. Cost me about 10 euro, but its the principle.

Sucks, man. Are you sure the seller wouldn't put that in there just to have you believe it was someone who works for the postal service?

I thought about it, but the "stamp" shows 4.93 euro so its right for its weight. If it was only a note inside the postage would be cheaper. You could clearly see that the envelope had been opened a 2nd time. The seller used some tape with letters on it (commercial stuff), but i can see that its been taped with clear tape over it.

Its Mike Tyson Punch-Out smallbox release (silver label, other got black label). I live in Norway. Good question, what crappity smacker would do such thing. If he just took the game it would be something different, but leaving a note like that is just twisted. A person like this clearly deserves some beating!

I've got like 1000 packages since ive started collecting and this is the first time something like this have happend. It makes me alittle nervous tho.. thinking of all my other packages. Im waiting for some rare stuff also, god damnit if that gets lost, i will freak out (not disco style haha) Sad

I checked his feeback. 7 members have given him negative and about 7 have given him neutral, which leaves a total of 97.2% positive. However, all the negatives are left 1-2 years ago and the neutral are mostly complaints about bad condition on the items.

The sticker stamp shows 4.92 euro. If the seller had sent a empty envelope with the note, shipping would have cost about 1.60 euro because of the weight. These printed sticker stamps, where do you get these? I know USA got them too. I always thought you had to get a post office employee to print them out for you when you payed, but if you can get them somewhere else he might have put the game in first, then removed it. But again, as i mentioned earlier you could see that it had been opened and taped again with some weak tape. This could have been done by the seller, but i hardly doubt it.

This case is so bizarre.. its impossible to know if the seller did it or not. I just filled out a complaint to the postal service. All i can do now is to wait for an answer.

I *think* you can print them off the internet here as long as you know the exact cost. That way you can send them from home rather than go to the post office. I'm not 100% sure on that though.

I work at Fed Ex as a package handler and it's not very difficult to open up a box and take things out.  We always have tape guns handy to fix damaged packages, so it wouldn't be hard at all to open a package, take something out, and close it again.  However, the nerve to replace the package with a note is just beyond me.  I wish I had something more helpful to say.  Definitely report this to a postal inspector, and keep us updated.

I pretty much work for a the USPS (a subcontrated company anyway)  I sort mail everyday.  The take mail theif VERY VERY seriously.  Postal Inspectors are around us all the time and watch us through 1 way glass mirrors.  I am sure they will respond and take action.
