Game Genie question
04. Sep 2006 at 01:30

Does anyone know if Game Genies are compatible with any region?  I assume they are not, but I've never tried.  I would give it a quick try but I'm using a toploader and game genies don't fit in there.  If someone has a game genie from a different region than your hooked up toaster NES, could you check if the game genie works on there?

Thanks! Smiley

My UK Game Genie fully works in my US NES frontloader (no clipped lockout).

I used my Game Genie on the Toploader using an adaptor, playing a Famicom game using another adaptor & it seemed to work fine.

So basically I had 1.) a Game Genie adaptor, 2.) a Game Genie, 3.) a Famicom adaptor, & 4.) a Famicom game all stacked up onto the Toploader. Tongue

They are compatible iirc, game genie converts some code and makes it possible to play the games.

Thanks guys!  I was wondering because I might be able to buy 50 NIB German/Benelux Game Genies for cheap, and was thinking of then putting them up on various eBay sites including PAL-A and NTSC regions.

Well, I got them for less than $2 a piece including shipping (which took a large chunk), so it's not too bad.  Maybe I could even use them to trade for accessories I still need, although I do doubt that Wink

Have any pics of that?  It would be fun to see.  It reminds me of the Genesis when you use: 32X + Game Genie + Sonic and Knuckles + Some other game
