Battery Mount Supplies
12. Sep 2006 at 22:26

Hey all, a loooong time ago I made an article on battery replacement and repair.  The big flaw with it is my mounts were made from paperclips modded for my needs.  Does anyone have a good idea on a readily available source of materials to turn into a battery mount that would conduct electricity?  Thanks in advance.

Every dealer for electronic parts should have battery holders in its assortment. They can be soldered onto the board where the old battery was.

Look here : http://www.hinkel-elektronik.de/shop/4879.html

Yeah, but it's very difficult to find ones that are the right size to fit in the nes cart battery mounting holes.  I believe that batteries attached to posts just like nes ones are availiable if you look around.

I agree, but you can solder the holder ( whoaaa a rhyme  Lips Sealed ) to wires that connect it with the board. That's probably the safest way to refurbish the energy supply of your games.

I guess that's fine, but if I'm going to solder on wires, I'm not payin $1.00 for a holder.  I'm soldering the wires and wrapping the battery in black electical tape.  For me personally, the only reason to go fancy with a holder is if it's going to work right!  Smiley
