NES games storage solution?
13. Sep 2006 at 19:45

Did a quick search and didn't get any results and I figured this would be the best place to ask. I'm looking for a good storage solution for NES games..

Currently I put my carts in cardboard boxes and they do fit well. However, I'd like the added protection that a plastic storage bin offers. But, as you all probably know, all the bins I've seen are rounded. That's great for most things but when it comes to storing many items of the same size (DVDs, NES carts, etc) it becomes a real pain as the contents don't line up well and shift around when moved.

So does anyone know where I can find some of these plastic bins that are more square-ish shaped like a cardboard box?

Where'd my topic go?  Anyway, if you're not the kind of person to make your own, I use Sterilite drawer carts like these:

Yep, really takes advantage of the vertical space - you can even stack them!

Those don't look too bad. Some questions of however.

Which size do you use? About how many carts or complete games can you fit in each drawer? Also, do they fit snuggly? (ie. they don't shift around when moved)

lol I was gonna recommend the exact same solution...

Even if I could recommend I've no idea what your local department store stocks. SO...stuff a couple of SMB/DH in your pocket, jaunt on over and play in the storage aisle Smiley Sure, people will think you're stupid. Stupid like a FOX!

edit: BTW J.Q. I scanned your custom title too quickly and thought I read "defecator" slightly diff meaning... Grin

There are worlds out there where the sky is burning, where the sea is asleep and the rivers dream; people made of smoke and cities made of song. Somewhere there's danger, somewhere there's injustice, and somewhere else the tea is getting cold. Come on, Ace, we've got work to do.

Okay, yeah; it's time to change that.

You can try what Dangevin suggested.  Mine is 2830, by the way.  It has extra room on the top.  I actually have some from Space Pro that are about the same.  With all of them, you can remove the drawers by squeezing the sides.  I also have a Sterilie 2814, which is good for Famicom games.

Well, my local storage department store basically consists on Wal Mart unless I'm missing something. So the selection is pretty limited. Sad But, they do have some things similar to what jedi recommended. I'll have to take a few games and see how they fit.

Any more suggestions are greatly appreciated, online links are a major plus. Thanks!

Check at office supply stores, like Office Max, Staples, etc. for storage.

At the moment, my games reside in a shelf in my wall, but are always needing more space due to my collection expanding continuously
